RP 11 - Zenari and the grave

RP

Zenari (Sandra) — 11/05/2023 09:18

When Pine and zenari came to the grave of the daughter she would ask Pine if he think it worked. "Do you think she is at peace?"

And she would also ask about the banshee

Pine (Darren M) — 11/05/2023 10:05

He would blink a moment as she spoke, especially as it was to him, surprised to be talked to perhaps, his ears doing a bit of a swivel as if listening to see who had joined them that she might be talking to, before coming to the conclusion that yes, she was indeed talking to him.

"I know she is," he would say, his gaze looking towards the grave where the plant now sat.  "I see spirits sometimes, and when the bones were buried, the spirit of the woman appeared.  She said..."  He would frown a moment, more of a scowl but that was just his face as he tried to remember clearly, "she said 'It's good to see the sky again,' and then she moved on to wherever it is she was meant to go.  I saw the mother too, outside Axeholm, when Koraliki took her bones out.  She looked to the sky too before she moved on.  Don't know what she said, it was in another language, but she seemed calm."

He looked back to Zenari, eyes calm.  He always seemed a little detached from the troubles of the world, except when it came to his own worries.  To him, the passing of souls into death was as natural, as commonplace, as the living.  It did not trouble him, not when things to do with it went as planned, no matter if he had known the people or not.

Zenari (Sandra) — 11/05/2023 10:33

Some of the softness that used to be in her face is coming back and she seems more relaxed than the last couple of days. "That is good. Life can be cruel... people can be cruel... more so than I could have imagined. It is nice to think that you at least can get some peace in death."

Pine (Darren M) — 11/05/2023 10:46

He would nod, thoughtful as he looked at her, seeing some of her previous nature starting to show through again.  Everyone dealt with trauma differently, and she had been through a lot, as they all had.

"Death does not seem good to many, I know, they see the loss of those they valued, but this life is just part of their journey to where they need to go.  They see death as an end, but it is just part of the path they tread."

He would pause a moment, trying to plumb the depths of his knowledge for something to say that might help her.  Words were not his strong suit, but she needed something, and she had come to him for those words.

"You helped set things right here," he said, his words more halting in his indecision, his worry for saying something that didn't sit well with others. "The curse on Axeholm that corrupted thousands, kept them trapped, you helped defeat that and give those people rest.  You made a difference."

Zenari (Sandra) — Today at 20:36

Her expression would harden slightly almost not noticeable at the mention of the cursed but it disappears almost as quickly. She nods to confirm she heard what he said as she looks at the flower in the cave and just sit there quietly but she seems relaxed.

Pine (Darren M) — Today at 20:41

Only because Pine was watching her closely would he pick up on the expression on her face.  It was not what he was used to seeing on her, but expressions of displeasure when interacting with him and his way of speaking were not uncommon, no matter how hard he attempted to phrase things in a way that was helpful.

His ears would swivel a little, just enough to show the slightly downcast dismay that his words had not done as he had hoped.  With a sigh, he turned away, silent once more, just letting her sit in peace as she seemed to prefer until she was ready to head back to the rest of the group.
