Arya (Sandra)
Arya would have watched and listened intently to Kael during the conversation trying to see if she could spot any lies or if he seemed to withhold anything.
Idris(Kiziro)
You'd be pretty sure he is not lying but he does seem to leave out bits and pieces there are definitely things he isn't saying
Effie (Annika)
That's lying by omission! Effie approves
Arya (Sandra)
Arya would say: "what is this about some sort of attack and what does it have to do with us?" [I don't think you said attack kiziro but I don't remember which word you used😅]
Idris(Kiziro)
You see him close his eyes. Visibly in deep thought.
"You guys are Heroes and I've been a huge fan. These people are trying to bring back Merdelain to the Material realm. You are the only ones that can stop them"
Arya
"what is this about some sort of attack and what does it have to do with us?"
Kael Daejor
Kael lowers his voice, tone steady but not commanding.
“There are wounds between worlds that never close. Merdelain’s is opening again. The ones meant to mend it are never chosen by chance. That’s why you’re here."
Arya (Sandra)
Arya would look back at Kael not breaking eye contact, the flame in her eyes still there in a way no disguise could hide. "Since you obviously came here to find us, do you have a plan on how to do that or what help can you offer?"
Kael Daejor
Kael takes a slow breath before answering. "Not a full..plan.. more a direction. Whoever’s behind this is trying to pull Merdelain back into the material plane. They’ll need power, anchors, and time to do it."
He gestures lightly toward the group.
"You already have the strength and the reach to interfere with that. I know where one of those anchors is being prepared. If we move before they finish, we can delay the merge or stop it outright." His eyes shift briefly to Arya. "That’s where I can help. I can get you there."
Arya (Sandra)
Arya would nod: "this anchor, is it within The city? Where?" She would pick out The map.
Tiaumil (Darren M)
In between talking with his sister, and starting to scribe the scrolls for the village's use, he would move over to where Arya was getting the newcomer to mark a location on the map, or a close proximation of it.
"That is the future, but the ruse you pulled in disguising yourself as the inspector, while skilful, is likely to bring down trouble on the village. Long term or short term, depending on whether the real inspector is alive, and when he is found if not. So tell me, Kael Dejor, what has become of the real inspector?"
Kael Daejor
He glances up at Tiaumil, his voice even.
"He was already dead when I found him. An ambush outside the road. Dinosaurs, by the tracks. I used what I could to get here before anyone else did."
He pauses.
"He won’t be found. Not enough of him left to raise questions."
@Tiaumil (Darren M)
Arya (Sandra)
Arya would look to Tiaumil and say: "we need to make sure The captain still believes That we are The real inspectors, maybe say that we have been called back immediately to The city. That he is The new overseer for now and that he needs to make sure The Village is taken care of after The old overseers abuse of authority. That way we might be able to keep The Village safe for now."
Tiaumil (Darren M)
He would nod, although didn't seem too worried on that count. "What would be more telling is if we didn't follow the known protocols for making the changeover official. We should do that before we go so that no more people are sent to the village and might question it. He seemed, from what you said, to be at least a moderate voice under the city's rule."
He would turn to his sister, an eyebrow raised in question. Did she know what was to be done? Did she have any input? She was their contact in the village, after all, and knew it best. His own knowledge was centuries old and did not include the new rules and protocols.
DM (Charalampos "Babis")
"There are no real ways of handling a situation like this...If an overseer is to be deposed the new overseer either is already with the Inspectors or is sent from Merdelain."She looks at all of you with a thoughtful look.
"Can be done though, the captain has always wanted to be in charge. But you'll have to do it the right way. Crush his spirit, insult his intellect, disparage his bloodline and let him think he is a simple wretch. Then give him the job." Her voice shows excitement with the idea but she continues in a calmer tone.
"If he seems to be going along with it I'd tell him you have agents behind that will monitor him. If you somehow let it slip that it's me that would make my efforts far more effective. Don't push it though, only do so if he seems to have believed the whole thing."
Tiaumil (Darren M)
He would nod, this making sense to him. "If some of his blood is still left on the ground nearby, I might be able to learn more details to use."
His gaze then turned once more towards the inspector imposter., Kael.
"Is putting him in his place something you could do?" he asked, seemingly mildly curious whether he, who was not from the Shadowfell, would have the stomach for such a task. It was not torture, but he had seen the way he had used praise before, when the fight was over. That sort of behaviour was not typical here.
Kael Daejor
He meets Tiaumil’s gaze, his voice stead.
"If that’s required, I will."
Tiaumil (Darren M)
"I suppose we shall see."
