Introduction

Prior to Rising Kingdom, while Heidi had become an “Arceus” in name and title, she was fundamentally still a Latias in all practicality. While this new form does not necessarily change that fundamentally, how she interacts with being an Arceus has changed, allowing her to become stronger and to be one step closer to becoming an Arceus without actually being one.

Review

Prior to Rising Kingdom, Heidi had 4 forms.

• True Form: Heidi as a Latias. That’s it. She’s just an incredibly strong Latias that could Mega Evolve.

• Lacey Form: Heidi shapeshifts into a white-haired short human. This is the human form that she looked like when she lost her memory in Lauren’s world, Gaia and was the only form other than her True Form until she regained her memories. This form is 4'7" and is typically used for low-energy and calm scenarios like sipping tea, as well as for times when she hides in her room and studies or research.

• Heidi Form: Heidi shapeshifts into a blonde, tall human. This is the human form that she looked like during her time in Ruined Kingdom until she lost her memories 1,000 years ago. This form is 7'4" and is used in most scenarios, especially when interacting with beings that originate from Heidi’s home world.

This form can also undergo Mega Evolution. When Mega Evolved, Heidi (either in True Form or Heidi Form) is stronger, faster, better at hacking and engineering, and can create objects faster and easier.

• Shadow Form: Technically, Shadow Lacey (Lacey in bold) and Heidi consider themselves as separate individuals; however, Lacey was born from Shadow Energy exploiting Heidi’s insecurities. Lacey and Heidi switch at will if the context calls for it or is forced to appear when Heidi is exposed to too much Shadow Energy, either passively or actively. (There is a Shadow!Heidi form, but Lacey doesn’t like it.)

When it comes to power, the order from strongest to weakest is:

1. Lacey Form (can range from around as strong as Mega Evolution to significantly stronger depending on the amount of Shadow Energy absorbed.)
2. Mega Latias, Mega Heidi Form
3. True Form, Lacey Form, Heidi Form

Heidi: Arceus Edition

When it comes to the two Arceus forms of Heidi, one thing must be clear: no matter the form or how Heidi interacts with Arceus Energy / Pure Infinity Energy, Heidi is still a Latias. That means that, while the actions and abilities of Arceus are replicated, Heidi is still fundamentally a Latias. Because of this, there are some things that Heidi cannot completely perform such as adapt Arceus-specific techniques (i.e. Izanami’s Dual Type ability).

She was already able to do a few Arceus-like things before obtaining this upgrade (notably, she can call and recall items and use the power of the Unown to use Creation power), but with her Arceus forms, she is able to do so much more easily.

Low-Power Form

Low-Power Form is the weaker of the two forms.

• Type: Dragon / Psychic
• Ability: RKS Replicant (JP: ARレプリカント, AR Replicant) - This Pokémon changes type depending on the Plate, Z-Crystal, or Memory Drive that it holds; however, this does not apply to the Legend Plate.
• FC: Kiana Kaslana (Honkai Impact)

Heidi ties her spirit directly into Pure Infinity Energy. When doing so, Heidi can much more easily perform the duties and actions of an Arceus. She can create major objects without the help of Unown (but she still needs Unown to create living creatures at this moment). She is able to create portals to other locations within the world without the help of her Portal Gun (although she still needs the help of the portal gun to go to other dimensions).

Heidi still uses both close-combat and ranged combat in this form, even still using her Move Gun; however, in Low-Power Form, Heidi can equip a Plate on the Move Gun, allowing it to change the typing of the fired move to the Plate’s type. However, when it comes to the Legend Plate, Heidi is incapable of using it at all. It’s completely useless to her, and, because of such, Izanami’s Legend Plate in her possession is no more than just a memory of Izanami. She can also cure herself of status conditions like poison, burn, and paralysis upon becoming this form and is highly resistant to them as well.

Heidi can trigger this form at any point, and overrides any control from Lacey; however, if her Shadow Form is engaged first, it does take additional work to override the Shadow Energy and engage Low-Power form. She is able to engage this form for as long as she likes as it costs even less energy than her other forms (thanks to having direct access to Pure Infinity Energy); however, she doesn’t like staying in Low-Powered form for extended periods of time because she likes her other forms.

High-Power Form

• Type: Normal
• Ability: RKS Neuter (JP: AR中性 / ARちゅうせい, AR Neutral) - When attacking or attacked, the Pokémon ignores the target’s type
• FC: Herrscher of the Void (Honkai Impact)
• Pronouns: they/she (“they” because plural entities, but “she” is fine too)

Heidi and Lacey combine within the Pure Infinity Energy to become one being. The duo uses both Shadow Energy and Pure Infinity Energy to temporarily heighten Heidi’s power to unprecedented heights. While Heidi’s ability to Create is dampened in this form without the help of the Unown (even though it’s much greater WITH the help of the Unown in this form vs with their help in Low-Powered Form), Heidi makes up for it in raw strength.

Due to the integration of Shadow Energy, Heidi ignores typing rules entirely. Because of this, they’re extremely durable and extremely aggressive, even seemingly locking away their emotions to perform a particular goal. As long as the determination holds with both Heidi and Lacey, then High-Power Form is durable and strong enough to topple even other strong Arceus.

High-Power Heidi is an Apocalyptic-level threat and could easily destroy a world if the situation called for it. Sometimes, even her mere presence exudes an aura so strong that it can cause damage to aura sensors such as Lucario, and even to those that cannot sense aura.

There is one drawback to this, however. Because it requires both Heidi and Lacey to form one being together, even though they will be in sync with each other, all it takes is for one of them to back out for the form to be canceled at this time. To make up for it, both of them become more focused on the agreed-upon tasks at hand. If, however, one of them cancels out of the form, High Power will cancel into the form that did the canceling (usually either Low-Power Heidi or Lacey).

Once the ability is mastered, Heidi will be able to enter High-Power form without the explicit cooperation of Lacey, as long as Lacey doesn’t actively restrict her from doing so. She’ll also be able to enact levels of High Power and remain in there for longer.

This is a headcanon about Heidi and Shadow Lacey, Heidi’s Shadow Self. While Heidi and Lacey share a body and are, in a way, foils to each other, they consider themselves as separate people.

Shadow Lacey

Due to reasons that she doesn’t know, Heidi naturally attracts and absorbs Shadow Energy involuntarily. In the past, the natural Shadow Energy in the world didn’t affect her. However, one day, she had an encounter with a Shadow Pokémon from another world. Its Shadow attacks were absorbed in her, causing unbearable pain. She was able to be cured of the pain, but she wasn’t aware that, ever since that day, her body would continue to passively absorb the Shadow Energy that was present in the air. Eventually, the energy’s preying on Heidi’s identity crisis gave birth to Lacey, a shadow version of Heidi with its heart closed to the world and without emotions.

Note on writing Lacey’s name: the bold part of her name is a part of her name. So, saying “Lacey” actually refers to Heidi’s nickname while saying “Lacey” refers to the Shadow Form. If spoken or written in a format without bold, then you say “Shadow Lacey”.

Lacey and Heidi consider themselves as separate people. They have different personalities, different reactions to stimuli, etc. However, they do have similar preferences and attractions, primarily because of Heidi. Lacey’s actions or preferences towards other people is actually due to her being a part of Heidi and naturally responding to Heidi’s preferential instincts. Because of this, Lacey is drawn to those that Heidi likes (i.e. Rayquaza, Zinnia, Nergal, Lauren, etc.); however, this doesn’t mean that Lacey doesn’t have a mind of her own. She is also drawn to Lauren because of being the first creature to consider her as her “sister”.

Lacey doesn’t necessarily have a particular end-goal in mind when it comes to herself. When she first awoke, she only cared about living. She was concerned about the possibility of Heidi finding a way to purify herself, an action that would ultimately kill Lacey. Thus, she worked to find a way to either separate herself or permanently take over the body. Heidi, on the other hand, thought differently. Heidi considered herself and Lacey as equals and as sisters from the moment she started understanding who Lacey was. Because of this, until recently, she worked to find a way to separate Lacey from herself so that Lacey may be satisfied. However, after Heidi obtained the powers of Arceus and after their relationship improved due to having a new sense of communication, both Heidi and Lacey are satisfied with ultimately sharing a body together indefinitely.

Lacey does not consider herself as an Arceus. While she is able to utilize Arceus abilities due to the fact that she shares a body with Heidi, she still considers herself as a Shadow Latias, not a Shadow Arceus.

Abilities

Lacey has most of the same abilities as Heidi, from flight to the power of Creation; however, there are several differences that stands Lacey apart:

1. In terms of strength, due to Lacey being a stronger Shadow Pokémon, Lacey is naturally stronger than Heidi in her Mega Form, but weaker than Low-Powered Arceus!Heidi
2. Lacey cannot Mega Evolve in any way.
3. Lacey is able to actively absorb Shadow Energy. She is able to absorb Shadow Energy from other Shadow Pokémon and stop the flow of Shadow Energy from those Pokémon. This does not count as purification, but it does make it much easier for a Pokémon to be purified. If a Pokémon whose energy has been absorbed is not purified, then an active reintroduction to Shadow Energy or even a particularly traumatic event can cause them to relapse. Because of this, absorbing the Shadow Energy of a Pokémon should be used as an interim step to purification.
   • Note: There is a limit to how much Lacey can absorb before causing unbearable pain or requiring for her to expel the energy. As such The Gale of Darkness is immune to this technique, even if she were to actively expel the energy while doing so.
   • It is theoretically possible for Lacey to reverse this process and inject Shadow Energy on a non-purified Pokémon to force them to turn into a Shadow Pokémon; however, she has never tried to do so, nor wishes to try.
4. Lacey is able to actively expel Shadow Energy within herself. She can vent out Shadow Energy from her body similar to venting out a heat engine. This allows her to regulate the amount of Shadow Energy that is within her body.
5. Lacey is immune to any effects of further corruption; however, the sudden amount of Shadow Energy will cause her to naturally expel it throughout her body and force debilitating pain upon her.
6. Lacey cannot be purified through usual methods, but any successful attempts without finding the source of her corruption will eventually cause her to return.

Heidi’s and Lacey’s Relationship

Lacey and Heidi consider themselves as sisters that share the same body. They are friendly to each other (as friendly as Lacey can be, at least) and consider each other’s needs and desires, with their mutual best interests at heart. When one of the two of them are active, the other serves as a second opinion and a helpful guide in case the other goes astray. They typically do not try to force the other into doing anything unless it’s important, however.

Lacey is able to easily forcibly take over the body if Heidi is in True, Lacey, or Heidi form. It is impossible for her to do so when Heidi is Mega Evolved or in Heidi’s Low-Powered form. Heidi, however, can forcibly take over from Lacey; however, it requires some amount of work, and she has to turn into her Low-Powered form to do so. High-Powered form requires for the two to consensually be in sync, however. In addition, Lacey is involuntarily taken over if Heidi in her standard forms absorbs too much Shadow Energy, and Heidi is involuntarily taken over if Lacey is out of Shadow Energy and does not either Mega Evolve or transform into Low-Power state in time.

Lacey and Heidi communicate internally. The inactive sister can use the narration of the roleplay writing to communicate her feelings and her thoughts of a given situation. Because of this, narration and writing when Heidi or Lacey is involved takes a first-person omniscient point of view instead of a third-person omniscient point of view as would be the case for all other characters. This means that the use of “I” and “me” would refer to the inactive sister. In addition, the active sister is able to hear the thoughts of the inactive sister and communicate with her, either verbally or through thoughts. However, when the two of them combine into High-Power Form, narration returns to a third-person omniscient point of view, and communication between the two of them occurs in thoughts.

Question: What's the difference between Heidi's human form and her Lacey human form?

Answer:

Oh! That’s an interesting question, nonnie!

In terms of function and what they can do, the two forms are basically identical. There’s no power difference between the two unlike Low Power and High Power, and there’s no additional capabilities between the two. Instead, it’s just… aesthetic and comfort!

Heidi’s human form (Heidi Form / Older Form) is taller (7'4") and is currently the standard form that she’s in whenever she’s not on Arceus duties. It’s basically her default form as a Latias. This was also her original human form, taken after and modified from a previous Lorekeeper in her home world.

Heidi’s other human form (Lacey Form / Younger Form) is shorter (4'7") and is used a lot less often; however, it is her human form for whenever she’s relaxed and most comfortable. As such, she only really transforms to this form when she’s around family, extremely close friends and other loved ones that she trusts (Aesen, Rayquaza, Nergal, Melony, Tor, etc.). The reason why this form exists is because, back when she lost her memory, she lost the memory of her original human form (the older form), and, as such, fashioned this form after the first human friend she made in Lauren’s world.

It was the standard form until she regained her memory back, but after that, she started using her older form instead due to people considering her as “Heidi” now more than “Lacey” as it were before she regained her memories.

Question: Which human form does she consider her preference? Her human form as Heidi or her human form as Lacey?

Answer:

That question is so good of a question because she’s genuinely torn on it. It’s not necessarily a preference over which she thinks is prettier or more convenient… but the problem lies in what the two forms represent to her.

On one hand, her Lacey form represents her life when she had amnesia. She still looks back fondly of that life, especially with Zinnia and Rayquaza. It represents a simpler life that she wishes to go back to – one that was, while a bit silly and over the top, was relatively peaceful. It’s the thought of knowing that all is well and knowing that she can finally revert back to her introverted nature, hide in her room and either play video games, do science things, or even snuggle with a loved one.

On the other hand, her Heidi form represents both her original life and her life as it is. For the 1,000 years that she lost her memories, Heidi had always dreamed of regaining them and learning of her past. Now that she’s achieved that goal, this form represents a sense of fulfillment and nostalgia… but also a feeling of a familial bond. She’s reminded of the remaining family members of her home world that have decided to join her to live in this new world in peace. Sure, it’s also a representation of a never-ending war with those who wish to do her family harm, but it is also a representation of her determination to keep her family happy, safe, and together.

So, honestly, it depends on her head space at that particular moment; however, overall, she likes the two forms equally as of now (though she does wish that more people would be used to and associate her with her Lacey form more). 

When it comes to Heidi's two base human forms (Heidi and Lacey Forms), she didn't come up with them on her own. In fact, both forms are based on people that she's met throughout her journey.

Heidi Form / Older Form

Heidi's Older Form AND her name derives from a fallen companion of hers. Early in the Weather Wars, there was a Lorekeeper by the name of Heidi, the Giantess. She was an extremely tall and strong woman, able to intimidate and battle even other Pokémon with her bare hands. The Giantess led the charge in many battles and tilted the human-side of the war in Jörmungandr's favor. Despite Latias's disdain of humans at the time, The Giantess was someone that she deeply respected and followed everywhere whenever she wasn't directly needed by Rayquaza.

Unfortunately, one day, The Giantess was mortally wounded in a battle that was fought between her group and a group of Kyogre's forces. Latias was distraught but didn't wish for the others to lose morale. So, Latias took The Giantess' appearance and name before charging into battle harder than ever before. Latias and the remaining soldiers with her won the battle and forced the other side to retreat, but she couldn't heal The Giantess in time. The human died in her arms, with the request for the dragon to live on as her to help others.

Heidi still wears this form out of respect for that Lorekeeper. She always wished to see a world where war never was necessary and where Rayquaza and the other Legendary Pokémon could live peacefully. As such, The Giantess's legacy lives on through her.

Lacey Form / Younger Form

Heidi's younger form derives from another source entirely. Back in Gaia, in between sickness episodes, she found herself meeting a young girl. The girl was separated from her family and found herself lost in the wild without any friends. She was wandering around the forest when she met Heidi, who had been crying out for help after being attacked by a wild Pokémon. The girl found Heidi and went to help her. She managed to at least help Heidi heal enough to fly a little. Heidi and the little girl worked together to find the girl's parents safely and they were successful; however, Heidi was too afraid to meet the girl's parents, so she let the girl go and disappeared out of sight.

Months later, Heidi found the girl in a city. So, she disguised as the girl to go meet her and thank her. The two met and giggled about looking like twins. Heidi thanked the girl for helping her that day and they exchanged hugs.

They wouldn't meet again for many years until the girl was a grown woman, but Heidi continued to look like a slightly modified version of the girl from that time ago. They started to meet more often, and the woman said that Heidi could keep the appearance to commemorate their friendship. So, she did.

As for the other forms? Their appearances are completely made up from Heidi's imagination.

Public Information:

• Heidi is the current Acting-Arceus of her current world.
• Heidi's actually a Shiny Latias! She simply calls herself as "Acting-Arceus"
• Heidi lived in a world by the name of Gaia until six years ago.
• Heidi's homeworld is what is now called the Ruined Kingdom.
• Heidi is the hero that defeated Friede, the World Cleanser. Friede is the Arceus of Heidi's home world.
• Heidi is responsible for many of the surviving Legendary Pokémon of Ruined Kingom's move and adjustment into her current world.
• Heidi has direct and consistent communication with every active Legendary in the current world, whether they're from the world or not.
• [main verse / main ship] Heidi is currently in a relationship with Nergal, her world's Eternatus.
• Heidi is accompanied by an Unown named Ghost that possesses her Rotom Phone instead of a standard Rotom.

Protected (Semi-Public) Information:

• Heidi became Arceus because Izanami, the previous Arceus, forced her to become an Arceus without her knowledge or consent.
• Heidi's nickname is "Lacey," which was her original nickname that Zinnia gave her. She still actively goes by that name.
• Heidi is no longer a vegetarian, but still cuts down a lot of meat consumption after living with Rayquaza and Zinnia.
• Heidi's biological father is Jörmungandr, her shiny Rayquaza. She didn't know this information until a couple of months ago.
• Izanagi was responsible for forcibly transporting Heidi from the Ruined Kingdom to Gaia. Aether meddling was responsible for transporting her and Lauren from Gaia to Elysium.
• Heidi is best explained as an introvert who pretends to be extroverted. She uses so much energy with her job and talking with multiple family members, but she prefers her own thoughts.
• Heidi has a child with Rayquaza! It's a Latios named "Lati".
• Heidi is a Shadow Pokémon... sort of. While she doesn't act or behave like a Shadow Pokémon, she has another form of herself that is a Shadow Pokémon named Lacey. They consider themselves separate entities, however.
• Heidi is responsible for killing the original Palkia of this world, although it was because of the circumstances at the time.
• Heidi has direct communication with two versions of herself: one where she never became an Arceus, and one where she's always been an Arceus. All three consider each other as sisters.
• Heidi is the only Legendary Pokémon from her home world with a Pokémon form. Everyone else only has gijinka / human forms for some inexplicable reason.
• Ghost helps Heidi with some of the more advanced Creation abilities, as it can sometimes be difficult to rely on her own Creation abilities for complex measures.

Private Information:

• Heidi deeply misses her old life. She'd trade her current life with her old one in a heartbeat... as long as it means that Izanami would remain Arceus and the world was still safe from Friede.
• Heidi and Jörmungandr fell in love with each other and planned to be together after the weather wars; however, this was dashed when Heidi disappeared. NEITHER PARTY WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THIS FACT NOW THAT THEY KNOW THEIR FAMILY HISTORY.
• Heidi specifically requested for Lauren to find a way for her to no longer be Arceus, since Lauren is the smarter of the two of them.
• Heidi used to be a very sickly Latias when she lived in Gaia. She would be weak and fall ill frequently for strange and unexplained reasons.
• If Heidi makes a scientific discovery or breakthrough, she gives the findings, experiments, and credit to Lauren so that Lauren can expand on them. Heidi doesn't actively have any patents on her own.
• [main verse / main ship] Heidi's been in love with Nergal since at least a year or two before her and Rayquaza got a divorce, but never once considered doing anything because she still loved her husband so much. (Rayquaza knew that she liked Nergal and wouldn't have minded if she did something as long as she stayed safe)
• Zinnia's still her favorite human in this world. She'd steal the Lorekeeper and be her Pokémon again in a heartbeat if something happened if it weren't for the deep bond between Zinnia and Rayquaza.
• Heidi remembers that every Legendary Pokémon from her home world had Pokémon forms. She has no idea why many of them don't now.
