Tor was created 500 years ago in the Unova region alongside her twin Latios brother, Hyde. They were born with no parents or guardians, having been created from the very world itself. Because of this, for much of their early life, they wandered around the region alone, meeting many of the people and Pokémon there with wonder and curiosity. Then, one day, during their travels, they encountered the Legendary Pokémon Cobalion, who nurtured them for a little while before sending them on a new quest: to first venture to the Kalos region to meet Zygarde, the Order Pokémon. The two agreed and flew out to Kalos.
Upon reaching Kalos and meeting Zygarde, Zygarde introduced itself as Leifi, who cared for them and taught them the basics of the world, of the Legendary Pokémon of the world, and their place in it. Upon completion, while Zygarde wished to keep them, there was still another dragon that they needed to meet. Zygarde tasked them to fly to the Hoenn Region, where they would meet a Shiny Rayquaza by the name of Jörmungandr to continue their learning, but also requested that they return when they were done. So, Tor and her brother ventured to Hoenn.
They met Jörmungandr at Hoenn, and he helped teach them specifics about their role in the world, of the various tales of the Hoenn Region and nearby. He also helped hone their battling skills so they could better defend themselves. When their training was complete, the Rayquaza offered a place to stay, but they informed it that they had already promised to return to Zygarde’s home when their training finished. However, after talking and joining Tor and Hyde on their journey back, Jörmungandr spoke with Leifi and compromised a deal: that the twins will fly to each of their homes every few months so that both great dragons can raise them.
Thus, Tor and Hyde did so for hundreds of years, happily living under the roofs of the Rayquaza and Zygarde.
However, one day, everything changed when Ragnarök came. Arceus and a few of her most loyal followers gathered together and caused an apocalypse on the world, killing countless people, Pokémon, and Legendary Pokémon alike. While Tor and her brother initially tried to brace for the attack, they were instead escorted by their Giratina, Melony, to take shelter in the Distortion World while the attack continued on. Eventually, the world was destroyed, leaving behind but a husk of a planet.
For months, the duo stayed within the confines of the Distortion World, but they both eventually left and started to wander around the ruined world on their own. There, they wandered for 100 years, hoping to look for survivors of their world, or for any trace of either Rayquaza or Zygarde. They never found either in the world, but instead were consistently hunted by Nyx, their Yveltal.
Then, one day, tragedy struck, along with a miracle.
Nyx had found and hunted both Tor and Hyde. They initially tried to flee, but Nyx gained on their tail, preparing to kill one of them. When all seemed lost, Hyde told Tor to flee before redirecting Nyx and sacrificing himself to give his twin sister a little bit more time and space to run. Tor was able to gain some distance, but wasn’t able to get away until she saw something in the distance: a band of humans gathered together alongside a Lunala. Desperate to find a way to escape, she joined the group and hitched a ride on the Lunala’s back as they turned around and ventured into Ultra Space to return home.
Tor ended up in a different world, one similar to her own but that had not been a victim to death and destruction. Now that she was there, she followed one of the humans around, eventually making it to the Aether Foundation and eventually to Sky Pillar, where she reunited with several survivors of her home world, including both her Rayquaza and Zygarde. Relieved to see the family that remained, she decided to stay with her family in this world, staking it out as her new home.
For the next few years, Tor spent her time with her family. There, she settled in, made friends with several of the native humans and Pokémon of the world, and even retrieved her brother’s Soul Dew. While she was happier under this new life, she wanted to find her own place in the world. So, when she had her fill, Tor eventually ventured out into the Kalos region and to Lumiose City. She saw a commercial in her video feed talking about a place there called Hotel Z, so maybe she should visit that first….
