There is a magic crystal embedded in the top chamber of the tower that seems to be connected through a gigantic crystal underneath the tower through a pillar that runs vertically through the center of the tower. The upper crystal seems to have stored spell that can open a portal to another world while the crystal in the basement stores the magical energy to execute the spell.
