Precedents of the Unchained

All house rules for Demons.

Precedent of the Cipher

Your Approver will give you the list of compromise questions in the Demon book, which the STs will use to craft your Cipher. Rules for finding your Keys follow the book, and Interlocks will be made when you find the next Key in your Cipher.

Precedent of Power

The following are guidelines for bookkeeping and use of the Show of Power exploit:

Keep a log of all abilities you have witnessed or been targeted by with Show of Power on your character sheet. Be sure to list the scenes in which these abilities were acquired on said log so that they can be referenced if/when necessary.

With Mage spells, Show of Power only works on spells cast as an Instant or Reflexive action in a single round. If a spell takes two or more rounds to cast, it cannot be copied. The spell must either be visually noticeable or it must target the Demon. The spell template must be copied exactly as written for use in future replications, and should be pasted for visual reference when it is used in future. If paradox dice were rolled in the original casting they must also be rolled in the replication.

Copying Deviant abilities activates both the Variation and its entangled Scar. Variations with Persistent Scars will generally become activated for the rest of the scene (but read both the Variation and Scar to double-check). Variations with Controlled or Involuntary Scars will vary on activation length based upon the way the Variation and Scar interact. I recommend copying the templates for the Variation and entangled Scar down in your log, just as you would with a spell, so that you have them available for future reference.
