Felicia d'Cannith

Lady
NPC

Felicia d'Cannith was born and raised within the House Cannith facility in Sharn. She spent much of her childhood deep in study, focusing on the House Cannith masteries of artificing and smithing. She took a particular interest in the warforged, and learned as much as she could about their history and creation. She came of age late into The Last War and dedicated herself to protecting the warforged as much as possible. In particular she found the treatment of them by many of her family as heartless; she never saw them as mere tools, but instead as a new race that had just been born.

Since the end of The Last War and the destruction of many of the House Cannith leadership, she has witnessed many seek to seize power for themselves. Whilst having no interest in ruling as Matriarch, she has none-the-less kept a close eye on the contenders within Sharn, and is not above manipulating the situation so that those that she deems unworthy never achieve the power that they seek.  In order to achieve this she made allies outside House Cannith, whom she knows can be trusted not to oppose her.  In particular she sought the assistance of the Jade Foxes, an independent mercenary company not allied with any of the dragonmarked houses.  With their assistance, she hoped to root out those that would rule House Cannith without mercy or regard for the rest of Khorvaire.

Her worry is that if House Cannith falls to poor leadership, then the new technology researched and created will be used to wage war, rather than for the benefit of the citizens of Khorvaire.  Having witnessed the end of the Last War, Felicia has no wish to see the continent plunged into another war even if House Cannith would profit more than most.

House Cannith is a house full of secrets, and Felicia excelled at seeking them out. She learned that words can be as powerful weapons as knives, and was able to manipulate those around her. This gained her many secrets but few allies, so she has become increasingly an insular figure within the house. While her moral stance is well-known and respected, her lack of desire for power has left her without much support or say in the future of the house.

Felicia lost her sister Aurora on the The Day of Mourning.  Aurora was married to Boras d'Cannith, and they had a son Elias d'Cannith.

Felicia has encountered the Jade Foxes several times.  Firstly, she hired them to recover a box that had been recovered from The Mournland (JF01. Heist on the Lightning Rail).  Next, she saw them at her nephew Elias d'Cannith's wedding, and offered her assistance if required (JF03. You Are Cordially Invited).  After that, she accompanied them into a mine to find out the secret of Lyrium (JF10. Mystery Of The Mine) and how it connected to Boras d'Cannith.  She also hired the Jade Foxes to investigate a neighbour of hers at her country estate (JF14. The Hunting Grounds).

Her last encounter with the Jade Foxes came when she hired them to stop Boras d'Cannith's plan to reignite the Last War.  She sent them to find Elias d'Cannith to give up the location of his father (JF20. Infiltrating The Dragon's Horde).  Following the defeat of Boras d'Cannith and her subsequent exile from House Cannith, Felicia took her nephew south to Xen'drik, to start a new life in peace.
