JF10. Mystery Of The Mine

Concluída

The Jade Foxes were hired by Felicia d'Cannith to investigate the Silent Stream Mine, which had stopped delivering it's goods to House Cannith in Sharn.  Felicia d'Cannithhad two interests in the mine; firstly, most of the workers were warforged, something that she had personal interest in.  Secondly, she wanted to know about the lyrium that the mine was producing, as she was not kept informed of the specifics of the product - this had arisen her suspicion.  On all official records, the mine produced iron and she wanted to know why this deception was occuring.

Felicia d'Cannith met the Jade Foxes at the mine entrance, as she wished to see the situation for herself.  Making their way inside, the party were attacked by a carrion crawler.  During the fight, Kriv was temporarily blinded by the spores of a strange mushroom that was disturbed, and the noise also drew a xorn into the fray.

Heading further into the mine, the Jade Foxes found a series of crates marked with the names of other mines - Twin Falls Mine, Broken Pine Mine, Lost Peak Mine and Underhill Mine.  Each crate is filled with iron ore; the Jade Foxesassumed that this was iron ore shipped in from the other mines to maintain the cover story of this mine being an iron mine.  Continuing onwards, the Jade Foxes found a Noticeboard from the Silent Stream Mine that contained several important clues.  The notes found suggested that Boras d'Cannith was the owner of the mine, and that the lyrium being mined here was being sent to Masque via a place called The Burning Tree.  The notes also spoke of an inquisitive by the name of Marlowe that had been sniffing around.

They also found a large shaft that descended about 150ft downwards; gingerly making their way down, the Jade Foxes found themselves in a large room that looked like it had once been a temple.  At the centre of it all was a brain-dead dragon, chained to the floor.  Before they could investigate further, they were attacked by a mind-flayer, who failed in his attempt to devour Kraxor Tyraneroth's brain.  After the battle, the Jade Foxes decided to put the dragon out of its misery, and continue their investigation into Masque by finding The Burning Tree.
