Nemo Silver is a former AMCL Superstar who was banned from participation in the Major and Minor Leagues, earning the distinction of being a near-undisputed GOAT who still couldn't resist cheating.

History

Early Life

Nemo was born in Indianapolis, the product of a military research lab secretly participating in Project Orange Powder. He was exempted from the program when its administrators detected a heart defect, and adopted out to Beta-Human parents.

Nemo's father was an engineer and racing enthusiast, and the two worked together on various projects.

AMCL Career

At 16, Nemo was scouted by Breakneck Collective and soon became its star pilot by virtue of his already incredible reflexes further augmented by cybernetics and drugs. By the age of 21, he had made a fortune and relocated to The Jewel of the Mojave, surrounding himself with luxury and excess of all kinds.

Silver was an utterly dominant pilot during the peak of his career, and despite his life of excess continued to spend much of his time perfecting his craft. His personal metric for performance was not whether he defeated competitors (almost always a given), but by how much. Those close to him at the time reported that he might react to a narrow victory as if he had lost, retreating for weeks at a time to further improve his superiority. He was given to unsportsmanlike conduct, but generally considered neither a Heel or a Face. Nemo was his own kind of star.

He was not in the AMCL long enough to see past his peak. When new training methods and drugs didn't do enough, he decided to cut corners. Silver was caught executing Motor Macros from his Headcomputer and kicked out of the league. The punishment was severe because it happened to occur in a match where a rival pilot was killed in action.

Military Career

Immediately following his league ban, Nemo enlisted in the United States Space Force as a fighter pilot. His service was marked by extraordinary accommodations, as he had a great amount of difficulty adjusting to the rigors of military life. But the USSF was desperate for pilots and an attractive face to serve as a recruiting draw, so accommodate they did.

During his service, Silver was awarded the following decorations & honors.

  • Ultra-Kill Medal
  • Space Force Distinguished Service Medal
  • Low-Orbit Sortie Speedrun Any% Medal

Appearance

Nemo still owns a pretty sizeable wardrobe, largely consisting of ostentatious Rock-star flash, sleek and expensive streetwear, and brand merchandise of various media properties, his team, and most prominently himself. He is the rare exemplar of a simultaneous user of Eyes-Up Display (EUD, "Yudie") and Panoptik, meaning he is a multi-multi-streamer.

His physique and posture are poor, at first a strange mismatch to his "I'm fuckin' famous" demeanor, but as he grows on you it comes off more like a languorous swagger.

Personality

Nemo is frequently Multi-Streaming regardless of present company. This leads to many dropped trains of thought, interruptions and complete digressions. That's not a source of shame to him, as a diagnosis of Idiopathic Multi-Streaming Addiction Disorder (IMSAD) is generally considered a badge of honor among Gamer culture.

He is impatient, cocky and petulant, which makes his transition to a far less wealthy and famous way of life very frustrating.

Nemo still spends a great deal of time perfecting his craft. He has taken the considerable talent and tools he used in the AMCL to become the best pilot he can be. He makes use of a Direct Neural Interface ("DNI", Dini), but as a point of pride has sworn off Motor Macros.
