The Fall of Kubii

In one famous case, the Kingtree of Kubii excavated their capital tree so extensively that the trunk's structure failed, killing hundreds of thousands not just there but in the peripheries of several neighboring trees. The ruined trunk is still there 800 years later, rotting at a geological pace and occupied by the Order of the Fall since soon after the fall. Kubii is frequently cited in Boduan culture as a cautionary tale against overexploitation, and Kubiyan has become a pejorative term for a greedy person.
