The small village of Zhuzhu lies hidden within the dense bamboo forest of Jiulang, just at the edge before Qingzhu Forest becomes dangerous to traverse through. The only indication of its presence is a narrow path that winds its way through the towering bamboo stalks, leading visitors deeper into the forest until the village suddenly appears before them.
The villagers of Zhuzhu live a simple life, largely isolated from the outside world. They subsist mainly on the bounty of the forest, hunting game and gathering fruits and nuts from the trees. Bamboo, which grows abundantly in the area, is a vital resource for the village, used for everything from building materials to utensils and tools.
Despite their remote location, the villagers of Zhuzhu are known for their hospitality and kindness. They welcome visitors with open arms, offering them food and shelter in exchange for stories and news from the outside world. Many travellers pass through Zhuzhu on their way to other destinations, drawn by the peace and tranquillity of the forest and the warm embrace of the villagers.
The village itself is small and unassuming, with only a handful of houses scattered among the bamboo groves. There is no market or central gathering place, and the villagers tend to keep to themselves, content with their simple way of life. However, there is a small shrine in the centre of the village, where the villagers gather to give thanks and offer prayers to the forest spirits that watch over them.
