Sulphur Plains

The Sulphur Plains is a vast, flat expanse of land located at the edge of the Is Sahasi region. The ground is covered in a thick layer of white, crystalline salt that stretches out as far as the eye can see. The salt flat is surrounded by towering sand dunes, making it appear like a shimmering white oasis in the midst of the endless sands.

Despite its barren appearance, the Sulphur Plains is home to a variety of hardy plant and animal life, adapted to survive in the harsh desert conditions. Giant cacti with twisted branches dot the landscape, while small rodents and reptiles scurry between the cracks in the salt crust. The flat also attracts several migratory birds, drawn to the rich salt deposits.

The Sulphur Plains is an important resource for the local people, who harvest the salt for a variety of uses, including preserving food and making soap. During the harvest season, the salt flat becomes a bustling hub of activity, with workers using shovels and pickaxes to break off large slabs of salt, which are then loaded onto carts and transported to nearby towns and cities.
