The closest thing to a god Tritons worship is their queen, however they also believe in a more ethereal concept of the neverending currents which guide and shape their life path. Someone who has found their purpose and dedicates their life to it might be said to swing along the currents, while someone who is rebellious and refuses to take their proper place in society can be said to swing against the currents.
Originally hailing from Water World the Tritons are an aquatic race led by descendants of the legendary Queen Celanovia who united the warring feudal ladies to form the Triton Queendom. Ancient portals left by unknown forces allowed the Tritons to the first inter-planetary nation in the Core long before the invention of the Spelljammers spreading first to Kraken World and then to Drowned World where they fought the Minotaurs for domination of the world. A ceasefire negotiated by The Travelers blossomed into an alliance which was sealed with the marriage of the then crown princess Celanovia VI and Minotaur chief Krarrk. After the invention of the Spelljammer the alliance of the two already interplanetary nations dominated the early Diaspora and became known as the Trimino Combine.
