History

Childhood

Red was brought up outside of the main cities of Stensia, and instead was raised in the Kessig Superforest.

From young, Red has had limited contact with the outside world and almost zero knowledge on who her birth parents were. Instead, her grandmother Xanaphia Birel, singlehandedly acted as both her caregiver and tutor for as long as she could remember.

Being too young to partake in any expeditions, Red was often left at home when Xanaphia went out on her hunting trips. Her grandmother's pet dog. Luna, helped to stand guard. Later, Red spent her time studying the various books in her home whilst waiting for her grandmother to return.

When Red grew older, her grandmother began her lessons and took her along into the forest. She had many adventures and experiences that shaped her into the skilled ranger she was becoming. Xanaphia taught her how to identify different types of animal tracks, how to set up traps to catch small game, and how to navigate using the stars as her guide on clear nights.

As the years passed, Red developed a deep connection with the forest and its creatures. One summer, Red and Xanaphia encountered a family of bears during one of their expeditions. Despite the initial fear, Red remembered the lessons Xanaphia had taught her about respecting wildlife and keeping a safe distance. She watched in awe as the bear cubs playfully rolled around in the grass, and she felt a deep sense of wonder and respect for these majestic creatures.

Despite being her grandmother, Xanaphia was a strict tutor. More than once was Red admonished for failing a hunt and once during a particularly bad thunderstorm, was left alone deep in the forest. She was forced to learn how to build a shelter from scratch whilst dealing with the forest's dangerous inhabitants. Despite the harsh training, Red knew her grandmother had nothing but love for her in the end. When Red completed her first solo kill, Xanaphia gifted her a necklace with a werewolf necklace as celebration.

With Xanaphia's guidance, Red grew into her roots and was set to become a great ranger.

Xanaphia's Disappearance

One fateful day, Red came home from a hunting trip that had taken her a little deeper into the forest than usual, causing her to camp overnight before returning the next day. But when she neared her home, her heart sank. Something was terribly wrong. The usually peaceful clearing where her cozy wooden cabin stood was now a scene of devastation. The door was ripped off its hinges, and the windows were shattered. There were signs of a fierce struggle all around, with furniture overturned, belongings scattered, and blood staining the floor.

Red's hands clenched into fists as she surveyed the wreckage, her keen ranger instincts kicking into high gear. Whatever had attacked her home was formidable, and she could feel a sense of urgency and dread building within her. As she moved through the wreckage, Red's heart skipped a beat when she realized that her beloved grandmother and her dog, were nowhere to be found.

In her despair, Red committed the scene to her mind. She followed the trail of destruction, her eyes narrowing as she spotted multiple sets of giant claw marks on the walls and the floor. Her grandmother's signature arrows peppered the interior, and the remnants of an unknown spell that was cast.

Before she could gather her wits and investigate further, the guards from Falkenwrath Keep arrived and arrested her under the suspicion of murdering Xanaphia.

Current Events

Pre-Team FTJ/ARRC

Red spent roughly 3 weeks in Falkenwrath Keep as a prisoner before being enrolled in the Fate Breakers programme, along with Isildur, Ara Nailo, Henk Bloodrune as Team FTJ

Army of the Damned

Red's first encounter with a werewolf came in the form of Antoine, whom Team FTJ managed to somewhat save. After clearing out the Alchemist's store, the party left Antoine in there, and Red took on the role of taking him out for walks when his symptoms showed.

During the fight against the vampire lord, she was then forced to choose between saving Lil Tony and fighting him due to his reveal as a werewolf. They've seemed to have quashed their beef, though Red was now on guard against Lil'Tony. Eventually, Lil' Tony agreed to take Antoine away for his safety, and promised to be in contact.

It was during her time in Shadowgrange that Red also received the mysterious Bow of Alberus from Magda Lawney.

A Sundered Soul

During the retrieval of the Strionic Resonator in the Farbog, Eudora Mymosa relayed the information that Lil Tony was looking for her, and said something about his sister and would meet her around a place called Illonia

When The Jailor made his appearance during the handover of the Strionic Resonator, Alberus warned Red that he was not to be trifled with.

On the way to Corsiva, the party met a ragged wanderer named Mistra. Red spoke with her during night watch and understood that she was a refugee werewolf fleeing from the Scarlet Furs, and seeking asylum with the Frostmaw clan

In Silbern, Red learnt from Shautana that her grandmother, Xanaphia Birel was previously offered a spot in one of the three pillars within the Violet Conclave, but rejected it. Much of what Red learnt then originated from The Autobiography of Xanaphia Birel - Tale of the fabled monster hunter.

Red utilised Alberus semi-frequently, and as the days passed, she was made aware of the fact that she seems to be increasingly influenced by Alberus. She saw visions of her attacking Ara while he was trancing. Henk also took a vicious wound once while drunkenly trying to grab Alberus away from Red.

During Ashmouth Invasion, Alberus seemed to become drawn towards the attempted portal opening, which unsettles Red.

Following the events that saw the passing of Isildur, Red and Alberus fell into a heated argument as Alberus blamed her for being too indecisive with the power he offered. From then on out, Alberus only agreed to lend her his strength if she'd passed the challenges he'd set.

The Ties That Bind

On the way to Presh, the team tried to speak with the Frostmaw clan, but were turned away by Logan Frostfang, stating that a very important member of the community has gone missing and they were not accepting visitors.

After landing in Presh and taking out the Cedric Langsley and his racketeering gang, Red tracked down Diggory Thorton at the behest of Alberus and intimidated him to the point of quitting a life of crime.

After taking out the Street Kings, Red tracked down the two fleeing stragglers and murdered them in cold blood, and Alberus was impressed.

Red learnt from an imprisoned Dwarf named Tukklin Bigtoe that Xanaphia Birel was supposed to play a pivotal role in the previous revolt, but disappeared and caused the whole thing to fail.

During the events of the Confrontation at Euclase Manor, Red disappeared to carry out her own tasks when she was tracked down by Valla Frostfang and Logan Frostfang. Her task was to track down a kidnapped Winter wolf, and alert them to back her up. During the mission, Red also discovers that slum kids were being snatched up to be sold during the auction at Elaine Valdore's manor. After the mission concludes, Red seemed...different.

During the auction, Red called upon Alberus and were so synchronised that their prowess terrified some of Team ARRC, and even Elaine Valdore herself. That is, until she started firing indiscriminately at Ara, only calming down when Peregrin casted suggestion on her.

While incarcerated in Falkenwrath Keep, Ara attempted to ask Red about the incident but was brushed away. Separated from Alberus, she broke out into all manner of weird symptoms which included digging at the ground, and biting Grummsh Sandstrider during the courtyard brawl (which resulted in her losing her teeth).

Red had another chance to speak with Tukklin about her grandmother, and he said that when he tried contacting Xanaphia about her disappearance, she merely stated she "had more urgent priorities right now."

Tukklin then enquired about Red's age and came to a silent realisation.
