The lost hold of Dun's End, formerly known as Mithrilforge, was a grand city built deep within the Bador mountainss. The dwarves who founded the city were drawn to the area by the rich veins of mithril ore that ran deep beneath the earth. They constructed grand halls and intricate tunnels to mine the precious metal and build their homes.

As the city grew, it became a center of commerce and culture, with skilled craftsmen creating masterpieces from the mithril and other precious materials found in the area. The dwarves of Dun's End also maintained strong ties with other dwarven holds in the region, trading goods and knowledge.

However, disaster struck when a monster from the depths of the mines laid siege to the city, bringing destruction and death. The current king of the dwarves, Dun, sacrificed himself in an attempt to evacuate the city's people. With their home lost, the survivors fled north and settled in the riverlands, where they integrated with the genasi tribes living in the area.

Despite its tragic end, Dun's End remains a powerful symbol of dwarven resilience and determination. The city's unique upside-down pyramid shape, with four grand staircases leading down to the mines in the center, is a testament to the dwarves' engineering prowess. The mines themselves are said to stretch deep into the crust of Lunaria, making them one of the most extensive and valuable sources of mithril on the continent.

Today, the ruins of Dun's End serve as a reminder of the fragility of even the greatest dwarven holds, and the importance of remaining vigilant against the dangers that lurk in the depths.
