Jarl Istvaan the Walrus is the revered leader of the Iron Maw and he is a formidable figure to behold. Despite his rotund frame, he carries himself with a sense of pride and confidence that commands respect from those around him. His white handlebar mustache and tusks give him a somewhat fearsome appearance, but those who know him understand that he is a fair and just leader.
Istvaan's tattoos and scars are a testament to his long and eventful life, and his magical spear is an extension of his own will in battle. He is known to enjoy drinking and storytelling within his longhouse, where he welcomes both friends and outsiders alike.
Despite his gruff exterior, Istvaan has a warm heart and a deep love for his adoptive daughter, Cadia the Summerborn.
