In the lore of Terram, the Ordning is a traditional social hierarchy established by the giants. It dictates the relative ranks and status of the giant races based on their perceived importance and power. The Ordning places the Storm Giants at the top, followed by the Cloud Giants, Frost Giants, Fire Giants, Stone Giants, and finally the Hill Giants.

Tempus the Storm bear, a legendary Goliath leader, played a significant role in challenging and disrupting the established Ordning. He led his Goliath people in a rebellion against the Giant, liberating them from slavery and driving the giants either underground or out of Soria's borders. This act shattered the traditional power structure of the giants and disrupted the strict hierarchy of the Ordning.

While the giants still cling to the concept of the Ordning, it has lost much of its influence and authority in the wake of Tempus' actions. Giants who survived the conflict were forced to adapt to the changing dynamics and find new ways to assert their power and authority. Some giants still adhere to the remnants of the Ordning, striving to maintain their traditional hierarchy, while others have embraced different forms of leadership and governance.

In the Goliath society, the concept of hierarchy and order also holds significance. However, it is based on merit, strength, and Deeds rather than strict birthright or size. Goliaths recognize and respect those who display exceptional skill, leadership, and valor. While the Goliaths acknowledge their own leaders, such as the High King and the Jarls, they value individual accomplishments and personal strength above all, honoring those who prove themselves through honorable challenges and remarkable deeds.
