Dymarnians

The original (pure) dymarnians are powerful but soul-less beings that reside in Heaven and Hell, lead by Katergis and Synigora.  Those that side with Katergis are often referred to as demons, and those that side with Synigora are often called angels.  They were originally created to populate and protect the city of Dymarnios.  Some Dymarnians live primarily in Heaven and Hell under the rule of Katergis and Synigora; their tasks can be anything that Katergis and Synigora may need them to do, such as taking care of people and things in Heaven/Hell, going into other realms to influence events or carry messages, spying on the Dymarnians on the other side, or even hindering them. Some Dymarnians also live in the mortal world. 

Dymarnians do not have mortal souls and are very powerful, but occasionally, a union between a Dymarnian and a mortal occurs.  The offspring are mortal, but sometimes there is a way for them to ascend. 

Dymarnian abilities vary greatly, but all of them can speak in Tongues, which means they automatically understand all languages, and whenever they speak, anyone capable of speech can understand them.  The sounds they make when speaking in Tongues sound other-worldly and impossible for mortals to replicate.
