The civilized world was once united in cohabitation, until certain powers got out of control. For a time, the gods were angered that the death rate of the world was exceeding the birth rate, sending wayward souls to be deleted in oblivion, so they split the world into multiple continents and sent magnificent sea monsters to patrol the waters in between. Generations later, due to certain geologic phenomena, a way across the ocean was discovered and the different peoples of the world could make contact again. Our story starts in the diverse, cosmopolitan city of Molasba, the mercantile capital of the world, where anyone can be anything if they put their mind to it. Perhaps you’re human from the robust plains of Nordavia, where magic never offers itself, but here, it just might. Maybe you’re a strong-willed and independent Kender from the Feral East, looking for your next big adventure. Or, perhaps simply, you’re an old Jinshese Eldrisi (a type of elf) who just wants to enjoy tea.
