Pippa Sweeney (née Muldoon) raised Aoife Sweeney and Gerard Sweeney with only the help of her sister Faye Muldoon; her husband Killian Sweeney passed away before his time.
She’s the type to marvel over mundane things and find beauty in every corner of life. In spite of her best efforts, she never learned to read nor spellcast. She has trouble learning to read because she has dyslexia. Her job at a local tavern kept a modest roof over her and her children's heads, but that alone wasn’t quite enough. She relied on the "practical magic" of stealth and sleight of hand to keep Gerard and Aoife fed. She taught them early on to only steal when necessary and only when the person you’re stealing from won’t miss what you took. She taught Aoife stealth, secrecy, grace, all while making sure her heart was in the right place.
