Void

Abyss equivalent, counterpart to the Tower

The Endless Void was a plane of chaotic evil, spawning and housing most active Demons (Fiend subset). It is a plane of violence and action, where constant movement and domination in battle are needed to survive. Alliances only last so long as they are convenient, and the tunnels, caves, and halls torture the mind and body of all those who pass through.

The Void is the epitome of labyrinthine: completely unmappable, the caverns and structures here shift with every new being. It had been theorized by magical scholars that the plane itself was controlled by the consciousness of Bellua, and shifted not only to confuse and trap those withing, but to pit them against likely antagonists and challengers. The plane itself seems to enjoy the conflict.

Being a plane primarily of Bellua, demons and powerful creatures who seek out such fighting thrive here, moving endlessly between locations finding others to challenge. No one being could ever call themselves a leader of ruler of the plane - nearing that notion seemed to invite further challenge, and a longer fall into the abyss. Any demons here capable of speech or sentient thought would recognize Bellua as their one true patron - the Queen of Monsters. The more devout fight for her recognition and her boons, the skeptical or arrogant fight despite her.

Locations

With the ever-changing layout of the infinitely spanning Void, recognizable locations or hubs of activity clash together as quickly as they are separated, connections between them shrouding in darkness or closing up with stone. The nature of the plane prevents any permanent havens for any group, but territories are claimed and usually held by the dominant creature type of the region. Many creatures who hunt in packs or groups navigate not by familiar terrain, but by sound. As such, most larger areas are indetified by the dominant sound on the endless winds:

  • Howloo, den of caverns and enclaves in the rocky depths of the Void which housed primarily Gnolls, creatures of Yeenoghu, and similar lupine creatures which hunted in packs. (Shoosuva, Gnolls, Flind, led by their alpha Yeenoghu)
  • Murz, egg-shaped caves found through the millions of holes in the ceilings of the Void, dug through rock and worked stone. These held flying creatures, primarily insectoid who hunted in swarms. (Chasme, Culicoid , led by Crepishigal)
  • Clickit, similar to Murz but found through small tunnels in the ground, leading downward. The colonies of ants or burrowing demons here formed even more mazes within the Void
  • Slorpor, region of ruined buildings, stone brick structures collapsed and forgotten. Primarly taken over by sludges and similarly oozy demons. This was created under the Black Pit. (Alkilith, OblexShoggoth, Sibriex, Jubilex, most powerful would be Shoth)
  • Rahclah, makeshift and cobbled buildings in the approximation of a city. This is where the most powerful demons would congragate to properly challenge themselves. Glabrezu make deals for fortunes, but most others fight for supremacy (Balor, Goristro, MolydeusNalfeshnee, Orcus would be dominant)
