Kalter was a short (12 foot tall) Frost Giant who took up residence in Garyn after feeling pushed out by his brethren. He wore leather armor layers all banded and connected to one another to cover his comparatively large body, and wielded a jagged broken greatsword which resembled a flat icicle. His voice was gruff and serious but his language revealed he was meek and apologetic.
Kalter sought primarily to live his quiet life within Garyn and to avoid the scorn and jabs of his family of taller Frost Giants over at their settlement Gletsden. He rejected their toxic masculinity and liked the reserved but overall kind people of Garyn. He was especially cared for by Victor Hulton.
Kalter could offer to serve as a guide for anyone who sought to venture further north in Tanadur, and he knows where the other Frost Giants live, though he was reluctant to share that for fear of being dragged along and reuniting with them.
