Numerian

Demeanor:  The Numerians came at some point from over the seas, originally a nomadic sea faring race they settled on the Southernmost Island of Fallin over 2000 years ago.

With their prowess on the sea, they managed to also secure areas of the mainland over the centuries and have prospered greatly.

They thrive on the principles of the sea and are explorers and traders. Being extremely adaptable, they are a formidable race whose Navy has kept them safe so far.

Appearance: Numerians come in a wide variety of body shapes, sizes, and colors of skin although tend towards tanned skin tones. Human males stand around 5’ 8” in height, with females generally ranging 8 inches shorter.

They tend to be athletic until older and they retire from sea going duties.

Lifespan: Numerians live an average of 100 years, although some exceptional individuals may live to see

110 years of age.

Culture: Numerians are mainly a coastal culture and make their living from the sea and prefer to spend as much time on the water as possible. They are not Aquatic, in that they don’t live underwater, but they prefer to live at the shore or within an easy walking distance.  However, now that they occupy their own nation state many have moved over to a more rural or urban way of life as many other races have.  As such, Numerians may hail from any culture, although Rural and Urban are the two most common after coastal.

Religion:

The numerian religion is based on a pantheon of seven major gods and goddesses, each representing a different aspect of the natural and supernatural world. The main god is Dzuwa , the god of the sun and fire, and ruler of the pantheon. There are also 14 minor gods and goddesses that have specific domains and aspects. The religion has a complex hierarchy of priests and priestesses, with different ranks, responsible for performing the rituals and ceremonies, and communicating with the gods. The religion also has festivals and ceremonies that are held to honour and celebrate the gods, such as The Grand Festival of the Gods and The Pantheon Festival, where people come together to make offerings and sacrifices, perform rituals, and participate in games and competitions.  Bahoz, God of the sea and Deryavan God of seafarers are considered important in Numerian society and have a central role in life.
