Edinian

Demeanour:

The Edinian's are a cultural human race, leaning towards scholarly and artistic ways. reaching above and beyond their current means. Unfortunately, this drive to succeed often puts them in direct conflict with both the other races of the world and even other Humans during the course of their lives.
Edinian's thrive on the principles of their empire, believing that it is more refined and civilised than other human races. This makes them somewhat aloof and prone to assume they are the most intelligent in the room, although they generally manage to control it at least to outward appearances.  They constantly
strive to better themselves, whether it is to expand the land of a lowly farm, or even the size of a great nation.

Edinian's forever desire more and are compelled to advance their lot in life any way possible. It should be noted, however, that while not every Edinian Human share these extremes they each possess this innate
trait to some degree.

While not being warlike, they are oft seen to be promoting their culture through political means.  This does not always go to plan as they were an instrumental part of the war, being one of the first states to have their King corrupted, leading to the breaking of the nexus that kept the lands safe.

Appearance:

Edinians come in a wide variety of body shapes, sizes, and colours of skin. Males stand around 6' in height, with females generally ranging 4 inches shorter. Humans have a wide variety of body types.

Lifespan:

Humans live an average of 120 years, although some exceptional individuals may live to see 140 years of age.

Culture:

Edinians have no specific racial culture having constructed communities based on a wide variety of cultures. As such, they may hail from any culture, although Rural, High Urban and Urban are the most common

Religion:

The worship of Ichindur is a monotheistic faith that worships a single deity known as Ichindur, who is associated with light and goodness. The religion emerged in response to the failure of the old gods to deliver the Edinians from the horrors of the demon wars, the corruption of King Rythar and the invasion of demons, it is being seen as the new way for the Edinians to turn towards a higher power for protection and guidance. The religion has a hierarchical clergy with ranks such as novice, priest, bishop, archbishop, and patriarch/matriarch, has a system of beliefs and practices centred around the worship of Ichindur and the pursuit of righteousness.
