Draga has gone by the name Franco for many years after finding himself trapped in the maritime purgatory of Saragross.
Draga was one of the most notorious pirates to ever sail the Sword Coast, but he and his crew disappeared nearly 200 years ago without a trace.
Draga was secretly a wereshark, having been bitten by one while being tortured as a child. He went on to become a ships cleric, in the worship of Umberlee, the goddess of the sea. He eventually became a pirate captain, but kept a strong faith and was known for demanding sacrifices to Umberlee from ships they pillaged.
After a particularly brutal incident where he and his crew forced over 50 people to drown themselves, they found their ship sucked into a storm, and deposited on a barren floating island of rotten seaweed. They soon found that they were trapped in the stange demi-plane of Saragross. Draga was furious that Umberlee has forsaken him, yet he felt his body coursing with immense new power. Draga had become a Dread Lord, gifted near immortality, enhanced magic, and absolute command over the sharks and undead in his domain, yet cursed to be trapped there forever in a form of purgatory.
