Chaotic Gold

ADVENTURES

I'm not going to commit to this complete list of campaigns, but the first 3 are certainly something I'll commit to. Here is the plan:

FUTURE

  • Curse of Mithril Hall - (Levels 10) a story yet to unfold, but it is expected that Bryllin Stoneheart removes the tyrant King Under the Mountain, Osric Gemdelver . Currently, this link points to a timeline of the history leading up to Chaotic Gold's arrival.
  • Consequences of the Curse - (Levels 11) After removing the usurper Chaotic Gold may want to clean up the mess he has created. I won't say more, but the world is damaged.
  • The Red Opera - (one-off variable level) Warlocks from across the planes have made their pilgrimage to the north, where the veil between worlds runs thin and the hidden ones offer their guidance at a price. Maybe we run the characters up to level 16.
IF WE NEED TO CONTINUE
Honestly, I'm not sure that the 5e System will properly stand up to higher-level campaigning without a change or two. Many say spell casters are way over-powered at 12 +. With that said, I have an idea to perhaps "fix" it involving changing the nature or Long and Short Rest. Essentially,

  • Short Rests - They are shorter... like one hour.
  • Long Rests - Casters will want more days of rest, martial will be more powerful in longer engagements.
    • Hit Points - All of them.
    • Spell Casters - Casters only get back spells equal to their level.  For example, a 12th level cleric could regain 12 levels of spells and they have 47 levels of spells (4x1st, 3x2nd, 3x3rd, 3x4th, 2x5th, 1x6th). They'd take 4 days of resting to get them all back. Or maybe we give them back 24 slots.

NIXED IDEAS

These are okay, but It think they will work better at a lower level.

  • Sands of Time - A ragged-looking girl in her early teens presents the characters with an ancient map to a forgotten Quarzhasaati city
  • Shadows of the Past - The awakens on the Broken Plains of the Shadow Plane  about to become the dinner for a band of roaming demons

OWNERSHIP

The party owns a 10% membership in Wave Echo Caves which is said to have deposits of mithril, and other minerals as well as a magical device known as the Forge of Spells.  Note Bene: In the interest of fairness and ease of accountability these funds will extend to the new members (Pimzin Teabottle & Thorne) as well in 2% shares.
