Political Struggles (PS) 1,390 — 1,400

Gemdelvers and Stonehearts struggle for the soul of Mithril Hall

On the death of Bruenor Battlehammer there was no heir so he left his kingdom to his more trusted councilors and it was the heads of these families that ruled Mithril Hall  for the next decade:

But it was Osric Gemdelver  who led the pack, opposed only the Stoneheart clan.  One-by-one the other three families removed themselves from power until only the obstinate Finehands Stoneheart was left leading the opposition to the clan Gemdelver's plan to crown Osric the 11th King Under the Mountain.

The Gemdelvers lead an angry mob that topples the council and slaughters many within the halls. When it is over, peace is achieved by crowning Osric the 11th King Under the Mountain.  That night Bryllin Stoneheart and Halbek Stoneheart hid as their parents had taught them coming out only reluctantly when approached by their trusted teacher Doctor Blackheart. The two of them separated at that time with Gundren Rockseeker taking Bry and Halbek remaining with the good doctor.
