Zaila Fanter

Zaila's origin go back to valleys and dales known as Brannon Brae where she was trained in the ways of magic, music and performance. She was only a short lass of an elf when the SpellPlague struck and with it Count Kas Kas. To Zaila, the damage was done by the wicked count who cut down peoples of Brannon Brae, but the reality is more complex than that and perhaps a tale for another day, because it involves the warring of gods; battles between Law and Chaos.

No matter how you recount the story, it was Gundren Rockseeker who rescued Zaila from the aftermath and found her a home with a rather academic innkeeper on the crossroads. This is where Zaila honed her craft and learned much about the world from both stories and books.  Later, when Gundren asked for her assistance in reopening Wave Echo Caves, Zaila did not hesitate to say yes for there was an opportunity to be a part of the stories she had memorized at the crossroads. This story is told in the song of the Lost Mines of Phandelver.

She joined with Chaotic Gold and completed this task, and again saw an opportunity to tell the important tales of the age when her compatriot Bryllin Stoneheart proclaimed she was heading east to Mithril Hall to lift the curse.
