Cauchemar is a quietly active member of the Guardians of the Veil. A private individual with perhaps a few more than average skeletons in the proverbial closet. She has close ties to the GotV Emissary, Ava, who has been a mentor to her for several years. She is often in the company of another guardian, Mirón.
Outside of the Consilium, Dr. Frances Ward-King is a respected member of the entertainment industry, with a little Fame and owns and operates a recording studio situated in Brooklyn, Pentacle 36. She has released several albums of her own in previous years, but does not do live performance anymore due to time constraints.

- Artists and Repertoire - Along with connections to various talent groups, she often keeps an eye out for talent when able.
- Musician - Though her ability to perform in public is limited, she's still a musician with a strong focus on drums and vocals.
- Domestic Abuse Volunteer - It is not uncommon to find her volunteering with Ava's shelter programs and half-way houses. There are always resources on hand for those that may be in need.
- French Quarter - Frances is a prominent member of the French speaking community and will volunteer at events.
- The Science of Emotions - Emotions are important in the music industry and Dr. Frances Ward-King is a music psychologist with interests in further emotional studies both as personal curiosity and for advancement of the industry.
