Gravpad
A platform capable of generating an anti-gravity field, reducing the mass of larger objects when they are placed on it. The platform can then be moved around by individuals with minimal effort. Gravpads come in many shapes and sizes, from those big enough to move large containers, to small trolleys suited for office buildings.

A gravpad can carry items whose encumberance values a total 50 or less. So long as a character holds its magnetic tether control device (roughly the size of a pen), the gravpad follows them at a short range. While the gravpad is active, its encumberance value is 0.

Pouches and Packs
Although each pouch, backpack, or satchel is different from one species to another, they can be found in every corner of the galaxy. Outside of some differences borne from the creators' physiological differences, they all follow the same basic principles.

While wearing a pouch or pack suitable for your species, your encumberance threshold increases by 3.

Spacer Trunk
Part luggage, part wardrobe, part home away from home, a spacer trunk is a large container that measures a little smaller than an average human -- 1.5 meters tall, and half that wide and deep. It is equipped with a micrograv platform that offsets the weight of its fully loaded capacity.

A spacer trunk can hold items whose encumberance values together a total of 20 or less. No single item placed in it can have an encumberance higher than 4. It can be locked with a biometric code, and opening one without the proper code requires a Hard (Difficulty 3) Skulduggery check.

VersiHaul System Components
The VersiHaul system is a universal system of bags, pouches, hooks, and harnesses that connect together to make cumbersome equipment easier. Each pouch can be easily attached to a number of surfaces, such as directly attached to a piece of clothing or strapped to a belt. Each component can be narratively described as a pouch, a belt hook, a holster, and several of them together can represent a larger pouch or backpack.

Each VersiHaul component your character has, increases your encumberance threshold by 1. You may only wear enough VersiHaul components to double your original encumberance threshold.

Autocuffs

A set of auto-activating restraints used to secure an individual. Placed around a limb or similar appendage, each cuff automatically tightens to a point that is restrictive without risk of cutting off air or blood flow. Once these cuffs are locked in place, they are nearly impossible to slip out of or break.

As an action, an engaged target who is immobilized or incapacitated may be fitted with autocuffs. The target is then immobilized until the autocuffs are removed. They may attempt a Formidable (Difficulty 5) Athletics or Coordination check to break or slip out of the autocuffs.

Data Drill
A remarkable device that allows bypassing security software and other digital protections. The drill pairs with another device, such as a savant, for processing and guidance. When the data drill is set, it begins to figuratively carve its way through the computer's security system, in a process that is highly efficient but time consuming. This process can also be damaging, and may in some cases damage information that the user is seeking to retrieve.

Using a data drill ads 2 Success and 2 Threat to the results of any Computer checks made to access a computer system, and to the results of any Skulduggery checks made to open a computerized lock.

Lockbreaker
A kit of tools that can aid in opening a lock, whether primarily physical or wholly electronic. These tools are efficient, but often delicate and prone to breaking if the lock in question has security systems in place to mitigate such tools.

Using a lockbreaker upgrades the Skulduggery check twice and upgrades the Difficulty once, when used as part of a check to bypass a lock. The GM may spend 2 Threat to permanently damage the lock, and 1 Despair to permanently destroy the lockbreaker.

Morphic Kit
A morphic kit is a technologically advanced disguise kit. It may utilize a mix of distortion fields, holographic compensators, prosthetics and makeup, voice modulators, and more, to allow a character to appear and interact as another individual.

Using a morphic kit decreases the difficulty once (to a minimum of 1). All other characters upgrade the Difficulty once for any Vigilance check they use to see through the deception.

Night Vision Kit
For species with no natural compensators for darkness -- visual or otherwise -- this kit provides the means to perceive the environment as normal.

Using a night vision kit removes 2 Setback added due to darkness from any checks made by the wearer.

Ambassador
A pocket-sized electronic device capable of analyzing and translating languages spoken near it into another language -- so long as both languages have are available in its expansive memory banks. An ambassador device can be paired with a comlink, savant, or any other computer through a simple process, but it can also be set to widely broadcast translations through its own speakers.
A small, wearable device that allows an individual to send and receive both text and audio communications. It comes equipped with speakers that allows it to be heard by anyone within short range, and it is sensitive enough to pick up the wearer even when they are whispering.

Comlinks can be directly linked with one another for smaller, private communication networks, though these small networks are not directly encrypted. They can also be connected to ship- or planetary-wide communication networks, or even to FTL transmitters and orbital relay networks to allow interplanetary or even interstellar communications.

Such broader networks are also typically connected to a Datamask, to prevent outsiders from listening in.

Data Chip
A device of varying size, typically pocket-sized or smaller, for storing data. They come in a wide variety of designs and purposes, some of them general while others are built to only store particular kinds of data.
Datamask
A portable encryption device that can be interfaced with a comlink or similar communications tools, in order to scramble any outgoing transmissions. Another datamask on the receiving end, equipped with the same encryption codes, is then able to decrypt and read the incoming messages.

A message encrypted by a datamask requires a Daunting (Difficulty 4) Computers check in order for it to be decrypted.

Personal Drone
A simple drone designed to assist in a variety of tasks. They are typically equipped with a simple artificial intelligence and purpose-built for household tasks -- cooking, cleaning, entertainment -- though more advanced models provide support for professional work. Mechanical drones, for example, equipped with tools to perform mechanical repairs, or cargo-hauling drones for warehouse work. Regardless of the model, a drone can be linked to a computer to allow a user access to its sensors and diagonostics.

For a specific drone, choose a particular skill that it has been built for: Astrocarography, Computers, Mechanics, Operating, Piloting, Skulduggery, Survival, any one Knowledge skill.

As long as the drone is actie and within short range, the character operating the drone adds 1 Bonus to checks made with the chosen skill. The bonus is also added for any Perception or Vigilance checks made if the drone is linked to a savant or quintisensor and would be able to assist.

Portable FTL Commpack
A heavy backpack that carries a compact FTL transmitter. This transmitter can be set up in a few minutes, and is powerful enough to send a signal to a neighbouring star system -- whether for emergency or clandestine contact.

It takes two maneuvers to deploy the FTL comCommpack, and its power supply allows for one hour of continuous transmission. These transmissions start to degrade after approximately three light-years, and are almost imperceivable after six.

Perimeter Beacon
An invaluable tool for anyone travelling through dangerous wilderness. When placed, it expands to a height of three meters and a small drone attached to its tip flies around it, keeping an eye out for any motion or intrusion. It has an effective range of several dozen meters, and multiple beacons can be linked together in a large chain of sensors to keep larger encampents alert.

A perimeter beacon scans the terrain in a long range around its position. While it is active, anyone attempting to sneak past the beacon must make a Hard (2 Difficulty, 1 Challenge) Stealth check.

Quintisensor
Used primarily by medical staff and field-operating scientists, a quintisensor is a handheld diagnostic device. Its powerful sensors are able to scan energy forms, living creaturs, and objects, and its readout displays offer guidance on what was scanned. This can include its biology, energy signature, and molecular composition. This information can be linked together with a savant or a computer to further record and analyze any findings.

The quintisensor allows a character to conduct a wide range of passive and active scans. While using a quintisensor, you count as having "the right tools for the job" when scanning or analyzing an object or location. It also adds 1 Sucess to the result of any Perception or Vigilance checks that involve use of the tool.

Savant
A small and powerful personal computer that is almost ubiquitous across across the galaxy. A myriad of models and designs exist, differing greatly from one part of the galaxy to another, but most individuals own a savant of some sort. It may be a handheld device with a screen; a wholly voice-activated piece of jewelry; an augmented set of eyewear; or even a neurally linked device. It serves as a computational system, a way to access informational networks, and as a communications device similar to a comlink.

If your character has a savant, you add 1 Success to the result of any Knowledge checks that involve use of it.

Automedic
A specialized drone, purpose-built for medicine and medical emergencies. These models are slightly larger than other personal drones, and are quipped with internal storage units for keeping bandages, ointments, sutures, dermal sealers, and similar. These drones can perform first aid duties by themselves, or assist other medical personnel in these duties.

An automedic allows your character to heal wounds or Critical Injuries without penalties (including for checks made on yourself). If your character suffers wounds exceeding their wound threshold on a turn, the automedic will automatically administer a dermal sealer at the end of your character's next turn.

An automedic comes pre-installed with a five-dose supply of dermal sealer, which can be replenished at the standard cost per dose.

Cybernetic Replacements
Whether limbs, external organs, or internal organs, cybernetic replacements are common across the galaxy. Most species rely on these to replace failing organs or lost limbs. Lab-grown replacements also exist, and would be virtually indistinguishable from the real deal, but these are made bespoke and often prohibitively expensive.

Across most of the galaxy, it is also very rare to try and enhance oneself with cybernetics, as it is commonly associated with a select number of notorious species -- such as the L1Z1X Mindnet and the dreaded Nekro Virus.

A cybernetic replacement can be installed on a character with a Hard (3 Difficulty) Medicine check. It functions identically to the limb or organ it replaces.

Dermal Sealer
A small, self-contained and single-use medical spray that exands into a semi-rigid foam when exposed to air. This foam adheres to most organic surfaces, and provides an impermeable barrier that prevents blood loss. This sealant also imparts a powerful anti-infective and topical anesthetics.

The first time a dermal sealer is applied on a character, they automatically heal 5 wounds. The second application heals 4 wounds, the third heals 3 wounds, and so on. The sixth application has no effect. The dermal sealers are fully effective again after a full night's rest -- or 24 hours after the last application, whichever happens first.

Administering a dermal sealer requires one maneuver. A character must be engaged with another character to administer a dermal sealer to them. A dermal sealer cannot heal a Critical Injury.

Medipack
A complete kit of medical tools for the field, including an autosuture applicator, sterile bandage, antiseptics, sterile tool, coagulants, and more. Although it is well-equipped, its small size limits the number of supplies within -- and the supplies providedare typically intended for particular life-forms.

Using a medipack allows your character to heal another character's wounds or Critical Injuries without penalty. The difficulty of treating one's own wounds also only increases by 1, instead of by 2. If a Medicine check made using a medipack generates 3 Threat or 1 Despair, the kit's supplies have been depleted and it may no longer be used.

Xenobiologic Medipack
A far more advanced and complex medical kit. In addition to the supplies normally found in a medipack, it is large enough to also include silicate pastes, plasma ionizers, and other medical items useful for dealing with non-carbon-based physiologies. Instructions are included as well.

This kit functions the same as a regular medipack, but can be used for a far wider range of alien species and physiologies.

Z-Tab
A small, thin square tablet filled with stimulants. Placed on a person's tongue, it dissolves in a matter of moments. It is a powerful mental stimulant that employ a wide variety of targeted biotracers to be widely effective on most species. However, too many stimulants can do serious damage.

When your character consumes a z-tab, you heal 4 strain. You also suffer 2 wounds for every other z-tab consumed in the past 24 hours.

Ascender Rig
Employed by military personnel, construction workers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike, thse rigs consist of tacticle gloves, traction footpads, and a small plate worn on the chest. The chest plate is a miniature antigrav projector, capable of negating much of the wearer's weight, enabling them to scale even sheer or slick surfaces.

While wearing an ascender rig, your character reduces the difficulty of any Athletic checks made to climb by 2 Difficulty, down to a minimum of Easy (1 Difficulty).

Breather Mask
Acting as both an atmospheric condenser and a respirator, a breather mask is able to produce a breathable atmosphere for its wearer. Using a mix of filtration and replication technology, it uses the wearer's own DNA to determine and manufacture the appropriate gases and substances needed to keep them alive. It is also capable of purifying most types of smoke, irritants, and toxins.

While wearing a breather mask, your character adds 1 Bonus to Resilience checks made to resist poisonous atmospheres or hostile environments.

Extra Ammunition
Most weapons run out of ammunition eventually, so carrying extra reloads and energy packs is a good idea. Your character may spend a meneuver and expend this item to reload one weapon that has run out of ammunition, allowing it to still be used during the current encounter.

Extra Ammunition cannot be used to repload a weapon with the Limited Ammo quality, as these have their own ammunition costs and rules.

Fire Suppression Kit
A small, single use kit. These come in different shapes and forms, such as a throwable sphere that omits low-frequency waves, or bursts of chemical suppressants.

As an action, your character may use a fire-suppression kit against a fire, corrosive atmosphere, or toxic gas to reduce the rating of that hazard by 5. It affects the hazard out to a short range. If the hazard's rating would be reduced to 0 or below, it is eliminated in the affected area. If the hazard is larger than what the kit is able to suppress, it may still return later.

Characters within the effect radius who are not using a breather mask or a sealed suit suffer 3 strain.

Flashlight
A small, handheld device that emits light in a directional cone. It is able to provide illumination out to medium range in the direction that it is pointed, with which it removes 2 Setback added to checks due to darkness.
High-Power Lantern
A backpack-sized source of light. It can be configured to spread its light everywhere in a medium range around it, or in a directional cone out to long range away from it. In both cases, where it is able to shine light, it removes 2 Setback added to checks due to darkness.
Tent, Squad-Size
A well-equipped tent capable of sustaining a number of individuals whose silhouettes added together total 6 or less. It folds together into a carrying case the size of a spacer trunk, and it only takes minutes for its internal mechanisms to unfurl it or for it all to be stowed away again.

These tents are self-contained, and come with air purifiers and temperature regulators. Without recharging, these systems are able to work continuously for up to two weeks.

Tent, Two-Person
A smaller version of the squad-size tent. It behaves the same, but its capacity is a total silhouette of 2 or less and its folded size is that of a backpack.

Adhesive Gel
A hand-sized tube filled with a viscous gel, capable of forming a near unbreakable bond between two objects. Once it has properly bonded, the best way to remove the adhesive again is by treating the area with a neutralizing solution.

Your character may adhere two objects to one another by spending a maneuver and the gel. The two objects then require a Formidable (4 Difficulty, 1 Challenge) Athletics check to break. 1 Despair may be spent to have the objects break before teh adhesive does.

If your character has access to the proper chemicals, the gel can be removed with an Average (2 Difficulty) Knowledge (Science) check.

Bypass Pack
A small, flexible sheet coated with circuitry, wired clips, diagnostic probes, and self-healing patches. It can be placed over breaches in an object's surface, and once placed its internal processors work to repair minor damage and reroute power around damaged electrical components.

Your character may spend a maneuver and a bypass pack to repair 1 hull trauma on a vehicle, or to repair a damaged item one step.

Formsmith
This massive, bulky device can manufacture a wide range of handheld objects. It is able to heat most readily available matter, such as a flexible polymer or a metal, into anything from a set of eating utensils to a replacement engine manifold.

So long as the item primarily serves a narrative purpose and its encumberance value is at most 4, the formsmith can manufacture it. It can make simple weapons with no moving parts, and it can produce simple, non-moving parts of more complex items -- such as firearms. It cannot make liquids, gases, or other chemicals. A character performing a Mechanics check with access to a formsmith adds 1 Bonus to the check.

Gaming Kit
A small, easily stowable kit for playing simple games. It may be a pack of cards or a set of dice, or something more complex and particular. Digital, holographic gaming kits exist as well, though these are typically larger and more expensive.

Polymorphic Prybar
A simple yet versatile tool. It is composed of a malleable material that allows it to be bended, flexed, and even elongated into a desirable position and angle. The prybar is then activated, causing its structure to lock in place and go rigid, allowing it to be used as a lever -- or a bludgeon.

Portable Toolkit
This kit contains everything needed to carry out basic electronic and mechanical repairs, no matter their size. It typically comes with a selection of handtools, and data chips containing useful information regarding repair and maintenance.

Sarween Gamma Press
The gamma press is a form of antigrav repulsor jack, exerting a pressure between its two nearly unbreakable mandibles that is strong enough to force open airlocks and pry apart debris that was fused together during a collission. It is a favourite among scavengers and emergency rescue teams alike.
