The destruction of Toshi no Omoidaso is a national tragedy but despite the destruction being inflicted by Gaijin cannons the cause is our own weakness and failings. We have slumbered for hundreds of years, dreaming a warrior’s dream of past glories and victories. We have turned inward and focused solely on our past when we should be looking towards our future.
Is our future now to be the puppets of these foreigners? To be caught in a web of internal conflict and division?
I say no! Now at this critical time we must unite and strengthen our nation so that we have the strength to repel the Gaijin.
The restoration of the Hare clan has righted a tremendous wrong and is the first step towards the Greater Rokugan that we all strive for but we must go further.
We must embrace Rokugani Spirit and Gaijin techniques! No longer can we dream of the past but instead embrace a new future. There is no turning back now. The moment the Gaijin fired their cannons on Toshi no Omoidaso the world changed. We must now strive to build a brighter future, a Greater Rokugan together using all of our spirit and honor while embracing new methods and techniques. Just as a student learns from study and self improvement we must study and improve as a nation. No more time can be lost on half measures and internal division.
