The daimyo of the Yasuki family and with as keen of a business sense as his family's reputation would suggest. He built Friendly Traveler Village from a small fishing town with a sake works into what connoisseurs regard as the best sake in the empire.
However, he revealed that the money to do so came from his blackmail of Asako Nakiro. A man who subsequently disappeared and joined with the secret criminal organization known as the Kolat. A group that he claims has been behind such schemes as the destruction of the Hare Clan and the opium war in Ryoko Owari.
Taka testified against the Hare in order to let Nakiro know that he was watching him, hoping that he would make a mistake and reveal himself.
He believes that the Bell of Hu Xiang is that mistake. One of the Bells of the Dead, it is normally kept at a shrine holding all twelve which keep the Shimushigaki restrained. The Kolat, he reasons, must be nearby.
