The Wendigo Curse is a neurological and physiological disorder that infects those who commit cannibalism, and as such is quite well-known in areas that suffer from famine, such as The Meritocratic Republic of the United People of the Pools. It is the product of Leannan, who has been noted by a number of Clerics and Paladins who have spoken to her directly as finding the killing and especially eating of sapient beings absolutely repulsive as she finds it utterly heartbreaking to hear their souls crying in pain, so her response was to turn those who commit this great sin to be turned into a monster that fits their monstrous acts.
