Bel currently resides in The Great Stone Tower with The Nameless One.
General Description
Bel is the newest goddess of The Lesser Pantheon, and is the goddess of hope, inner strength, endurance, community, perseverance, the concept of freedom, rebellion and revolution for righteous causes, free will, mental healing and self-sacrifice. She is the patron goddess of Kobolds having been one in her mortal life, and the protector of servants, slaves, the homeless and downtrodden, those suffering from mental illness, survivors of trauma and violence, and freedom fighters.
Forms
Bel's true divine form is a massive serpentine female dragon, almost birdlike in appearance with white feathers covering her entire body, golden horns and three glowing blue eyes. She has also been known to appear as a glowing ball of white light which produces a calm soothing voice or an identical voice echoing from ripples in the surface of water. Her most common form, however, was originally her real appearance when she was mortal: an unassuming and visually utterly ordinary orange-downed Kobold, sometimes symbolically holding a loom.
Origins
Along with Marduk, Bel is one of only two gods known to have originally been mortals. Bel was originally Bel Kuko, an extremely powerful wizard who was a Crusader of the Nameless One. Her mortal self died trying to close a portal being used to summon Thgirb Amall when a Counterspell was overpowered by the circle's contingencies and vaporised her, but her soul through unknown mechanisms was forcibly elevated into divinity. She retains her memory of her mortal self, and it is known that within mortality Bel interacted with other lesser divine figures such as The Hooded Man (her interactions with whom fuelled her intense dislike of both the Hooded Man and his master Dezrael.) She also interacted with the Nameless One frequently as one of his Chosen, who took a distinct liking to her during their interactions and following her ascension the two of them became consorts after their interactions blossomed into romance.
