Designed in a flight of fancy by The Equal, the Grand Library is a centre piece in the Imperial Education scheme and contains apprentice level knowledge on every subject known to Troll-kind. This includes the study of magic and is the only non-Order institution that provides formal study of the magical arts. The original building (the wooden section with balconies, plus the library's famous clock tower) was personally overseen by the Equal herself, while the larger stone extension was constructed in the early 3rd Age under the watchful eye of the Immortal Governor.
The staff are known to have a friendly rivalry with the staff of the Grand Order Training Tower over the road, something the current Curator actively encourages.
The floors are all dedicated to specific purposes as follows: reception and reference materials; fiction, mythology and the Dwarven Sagas; public access non-fiction and legal texts; the Library's offices and administration; the storage of the extensive Mor'Koc City Archives; storage and restoration of rare, vintage and unique texts and books; and conference rooms, as well as the maintenance rooms for the clock tower. There are also two basements, one being public access magical instruction texts for learning low-level spells, and a restricted section used as a lockup for extremely powerful, dangerous or cursed items and texts.
