The tower rises up to touch the clouds over Mor’Koc as the second tallest building in the city after the Imperial Palace. The tower varies appearance, depending on which Master of Earthen magic is on duty as it is not uncommon for parts of the tower to be destroyed by apprentice members. This includes the infamous accidental Daemonic summoning in 3A 2, which resulted in the formal banishment of the Daemonic Order members to the Advanced Tower in The Imperial City of Gor’Raj’Ka. Most trainee wizards spend time at the tower, either as apprentices, or as journeymen from the other towers.

The staff have a friendly rivalry with those of The Grand Library in the building across the road. The staff include such esteemed scholars and wizards as professor and archeologist Willow Byrne, her wife the esteemed linguist Bronwyn Goldleaf-Byrne, Buriel, Feckward and forgotten 'archmage' Xvim Wrenlow.

During the events of A Short Month, it is revealed the basement of the tower contains twelve crystal prisons for archmages who are approaching the ends of their life. These crystals drain the archmagi of their magic to power the towers everyday functions and defences; one of these is Xyric Wrenlow, the grandfather of current headmaster Xvim Wrenlow. It also transpired that the attic of the tower was also being used to conduct secret (and illegal) experiments on a Dragon egg, which turned out to contain the divine essence of Marduk. The perpetrators of this latter event were arrested following the Battle of Mor'Koc.
