Bel and her dragonling friend Oro awaken cursed with unending pain after touching the dragon egg. Unable to cast spells without agony, she spends days confined to her bed. Seeking answers, Bel meditates and sends her astral self into the Weave, where she discovers a golden braid linking her soul to Oro and a black chain leading to Xyius. Following the chains, she realises the curse is tied to the dead water god's essence. After days of struggle she regains limited movement, but the loop ends with her and Oro still suffering, forcing a reset.
