Rowan joined relatively recently as part of the Tiran Royal Army recruitment drive that followed the ascension of Queen Marial. He is the Chaplain of the 5th Division of the Balla regiment, which was newly formed at the time of the Incursion. A classic blonde-haired green-eyed High Elf Ballan city-boy from a family of Jak'ra clergy, Rowan is a devout follower of his faith and actively uses its traditions as the basis for his routine, much to the annoyance of the vast majority of other soldiers in his regiment who are mostly Leannite. Like Jada he joined the army out of patriotism and fear of a Manzili invasion, but is noted for his slightly unnerving relishing of combat.
Unfortunately, this relish for combat would get him killed. During a task to protect Duke Erwen de'Valice alongside Blodwen ap Bryndyn, Dozz, Trez and Conchobhar "Con" Murtagh, the group were set upon by a trio of mounted undead knights with lances. Rowan was knocked unconscious after taking a lance strike to the head, then subsequently trampled to death by the horse as it turned around to attack Blodwen.
