Following the quarantine of Taratahi, a temporary supply and research outpost has been established off the north-western coast of the central continent.
Funded by members of the slowly growing Yeti merchant class and interested Imperial researchers, the outpost, named the Stransatta, is a unique design that allows it to function as both a fully fledged settlement and a short-range floating vessel.
Designed as a hybrid of ship and structure, the Stransatta relies on water-filled pontoons beneath the structure to maintain stability, and interconnected vertical columns to support its upper structures.
Originally constructed in the port of the Ice Palace, the basic structure was later teleported in pieces across the island chain separating the northern and central continents, before being fully assembled and sailed into place.
The Stransatta currently houses 500 research staff and maintenance personnel, with additional people housed on separate, smaller living platforms while more accommodation is constructed on the Stransatta itself. These platforms are intended for the eventual use of Yeti hunting and exploratory parties waiting for permission to explore the northern coast and establish communication with the Yeti Republic.
For now, however, the Stransatta's primary objective is to provide limited assistance to Taratahi and ensure that its quarantine is maintained.
