Following the quarantine of Taratahi, a temporary supply and research outpost has been established off the north-western coast of the central continent.
Funded by member of the slowly growing Yeti merchant class and interested Imperial researchers, the outpost, named the Strandsatta, is a unique design that allows it to function as both a fully fledged settlement and a short-ranged floating vessel.
Designed as a hybrid of ship and structure, the Stransatta relies on water-filled pontoons underneath the structure to maintain stability, and connected vertical columns to support its high structures.
Originally constructed in the port of the Ice Palace, the basic structure was later teleported in pieces across the island chain separating the North and Central continent, before being fully assembled and sailed into place.
The Stransatta currently houses 500 research staff and maintenance personnel, with additional people currently housed on separate smaller living platforms as more housing is constructed on the Stransatta itself. These separate living platforms are intended for the eventual use of Yeti hunting and exploratory parties waiting for permission to begin exploring the northern coast and establishing communication with the Yeti Republic.
However, for now, the Stransatta's primary objective is to provide limited assistance to the settlement of Taratahi and ensure its quarantine is maintained.
