AI Security Clearance Levels
this are the Security Clearance Levels the various Synthetic AIs of the Imperial Navy have
| Level | Typical duties and accessibility |
Null (Level 0) | Basic access to widely available information regarding topics of public knowledge. Used for basic user functions like accessing public data or interacting with non-critical functions. Typically, "Dumb" AIs possess this level of clearance since they lack the intelligence necessary to even be aware of other levels. |
Seraph (Level 1) | Slightly higher clearance for tasks involving routine operations. These AIs can oversee maintenance tasks, perform non-critical data analysis, assist with general communication systems, and operate base-level equipment like terminals. Generally, "Dog" AIs, who are often used as clever, loyal companions, fall into this category. |
Hermes (Level 2) | Mid-level clearance for AIs with responsibilities in logistics and communication coordination. They can access non-sensitive mission data and facilitate coordination between departments. Usually, these AIs are used as Pathfinders for small specialized teams. |
Aegis (Level 3) | Responsible for managing internal security systems and monitoring shipboard safety. These AIs are granted access to some classified tactical data on a strict "need-to-know" basis. |
Mnemosyne (Level 4) | Clearance for AIs that require access to historical data, memory archives, and information regarding past missions. Mnemosyne-level AIs assist with planning based on historical knowledge and pattern recognition. |
Norn (Level 5) | Involved in strategic operations, data interpretation, and mission-critical analytics. They are granted access to confidential information and support command decisions. |
Orphic (Level 6) | Limited to AIs with strategic and command-level responsibilities. They oversee the ship's core operations, emergency protocols, and high-stakes tactical decisions. They have access to almost all onboard data. |
Empyrean (Level 7) | Access to all onboard data, including the most classified secrets, and can interface with higher-level networks across the fleet. Granted only to the AI responsible for the ship's core intelligence or key synthetic advisors. |
Aetherion (Level 8) | Absolute clearance, reserved for top-level specific AIs with unrestricted oversight. They have access to all systems, data, and classified intelligence across the empire. |
