This region is comprised of several counties but is considered the heart of the kingdom as it contains the capital, Glimring.
Giving it its name is the great plains of the Edeldale, a wide series of pastures and heaths where wild cattle graze and deer roam free. While not officially a protected land, the nearby settlements all agree that this is royal land and avoid hunting here. Since the disappearance of the royal family in 644 HR, it's not known if this will continue.
This region has recently been made famous since the heroes of Greenfield took on and defeated the fierce elder black dragon called "The Matron"; her domain was deep in the heart of the Ilkmire Swamps, where several lizardfolk tribes still call home.
To the west of that are the Boartusks (or Boartusk Hills) where several mining operations are managed by the Boarheart family.
Several named forests are also a part of this region; the Ravenheart forest, Kingswood, Foxwood, and Briarwoode among them, each having its own mix of fey or sylvan creatures within.
At the northern edges of this region are the kingdoms of Folkstand and Firdeng
