Unole'di – Place of the Wind

Nestled in the curve of a sacred river and ringed by whispering pine forests, Unole'di is a living city of wind and wisdom, where the breeze carries not only birdsong but the voices of the Ancestors. Built upon the mound of the First Fire, the city is a place of counsel, dreams, and balance. It is home of the Cherokee Wind Tribe.
At its heart lies the Great Council House, a round, earthen structure atop a ceremonial mound where clan mothers, warriors, and shamans gather in sacred circles. Below, the central plaza hosts dances at moonrise, storytelling at dusk, and rituals that call upon the winds for guidance. A sacred flame is kept burning here at all times, said to have been gifted by Unetlanvhi, the Creator.
The city is divided by clan, each ward marked by carved totems and sacred garden plots. Children learn not only to hunt and gather, but to listen—to the spirits of the forest, the songs of the river, and the dreams that come on the wind. The people live in wattle-and-daub lodges, shaped to honor the cardinal directions, and the city itself is encircled by a palisade of riverwood, more symbolic than defensive.
Unole'di is renowned for its Sky Speakers, spiritual envoys who read the clouds and wind patterns like others might read books. Travelers come from distant lands to ask questions at the Wind Shrine, where whispers answer in gusts and leaves.
But not all is calm. Lately, the winds speak of imbalance—of something moving in the deep forest, of magic gone wrong, of forgotten spirits waking. The Ancestors grow restless.
Unole'di may soon need more than wisdom to survive.
