The Tarsis Auxilia serves as the Império de Tarsis military backbone, forged from a union of private forces, drafted populations, and feudal levies under the Imperio’s centralized banner. It reflects the empire's techno-feudal structure and its reliance on human capital above all else. While the Auxilia's decentralized nature mirrors the diversity of its realms, its overarching organization ensures that it is a cohesive and formidable force capable of defending the Imperio and projecting its power across the stars.

Structure and Recruitment

The Auxilia is a patchwork of private forces, local militias, and drafted troops unified under the Imperio’s command. Each Crown World is responsible for managing and equipping its own regiments, with each having varied doctrines and specialties.

The Imperio’s vast population ensures a near-limitless supply of soldiers, thanks to its great agriculture focused economy. Every man and woman of the Império have to undergo basic military training when they become of age, though this training is the bare minimum compared to the private armies of the Crown worlds or the elite Aquilian Auxilia.
Often the populations from Penitent Colonies are regularly conscripted to atone for their rebellion or failure. The most capable are integrated into frontline forces alongside common troops, while the most feral or untrained serve as expendable shock troops or meat shields.

Organization:

Regiments are feudal in nature, reflecting the governance style of their respective Crown Worlds. Lords and commanders from Crown Worlds owe their loyalty to the throne, supplying troops and ships in exchange for their territories' autonomy. While decentralized forces form the majority of the Auxilia, the Aquilian Auxilia is a professional, elite and centrally managed force directly loyal to the throne, they are trained and commanded from the capital on MaerthThese units enforce the Imperio's authority, oversee or lead feudal regiments, and act as elite shock troops.

Military Doctrine

The Imperio’s navy relies heavily on energy shields for defence, allowing ships to absorb significant damage before hull breaches occur. They are crewed by personnel from across the Império, chosen for their loyalty to the crown over regional allegiances. A ships crew are mixed to increase imperial cooperation and loyalty.

Missile swarms and Torpedoes are preferred for their reliability and adaptability in space combat.

Advanced guidance systems and sheer numbers compensate for the Imperio's slower technological innovation compared to other factions.

Crown Worlds maintain their own smaller skim fleets, often specialized for local defence and skirmishes. Smaler Colonies may maintain planetary defense forces, but they are prohibited from possessing anti-orbital weapons or Skim-capable warships. This ensures that military power remains concentrated in the hands of the Imperial throne, preventing insurrection and maintaining the Auxilia's monopoly on force projection.

Ground Forces:

Equipment ranges from conventional firearms to advanced energy weapons, reflecting the varied technological levels of the Imperio’s realms.

Melee weapons are often used, often as bayonets or breacher axes. Ceremonial swords or daggers, are widely used, particularly among the feudal nobility and elite units.

Penitent conscripts often fight with rudimentary equipment or scavenged weapons, serving as disposable troops to wear down enemy forces.

The Imperial Core Aquilian Auxilia and the Crown World Soliders are heavily armored and equipped with the best technology available, forming the spearhead of most campaigns.
