The North Sea is a large sea found in northern Impatria. It connects to the Great Abyss in the north, being surrounded by land on all other sides and forming Flóanótt Bay at its southern end. The Northern Finger forms its western boundary while the mainland makes up the rest of its shores. While most of it is open sea, its northern waters are home to various small landmasses such as Björju Island. It also meets the Spine of the North in these northern regions, creating a region of fjords known as the Veins.
The North Sea has historically been used to facilitate trade and transport between regions of the Kingdom of Kalvete, providing direct routes that avoid the difficult terrain of specific Holds. There are few routes that go beyond the sea, however, as heading northward enters turbulent waters and remote reaches of the continent.
