The Sjóhval Sea is a medium-sized sea found in eastern Impatria. Estlan and the Lashed Peninsula form most of its boundaries, with the exception of the Outlands in the Kingdom of Kalvete being to the north. The sea connects to the Great Abyss to the northeast, with the Sundered Islands defining this edge. Skutlan Bay and Mitcur Cove are found at the northern and southwestern shores of the sea, respectively.
The Sjóhval is known for having dramatic tides and rough conditions, which is primarily caused by the strong eastern winds that blow in from the ocean. Many still sail these waters, however, with the Kalvetians of the Outlands engaging in whaling. The conditions of the Sjóhval make this an especially dangerous practice. Additionally, due to the Sjóhval's location, no trade routes run through its waters.
