Cities and Towns

The small size of the Sunfall Isles has led to very few cities being established, although the cities that do exist are quite dense to support the Province's residents. Below are the cities of the Sunfall Isles.

  • Brunswick Port: Brunswick Port is the Provincial capital and the largest city in the Sunfall Isles. It's located on the northern shore of Sunfall Isle and has become the busiest port in the Province and one of the busiest in the Empire. It gets its name from Brunswick the Mariner, as he established the city and played a crucial role in establishing the Sunfall Isles as a Province. Due to this significance, sailing has become an important part of the local culture, so much so that the city holds the annual Brunswick Regatta to celebrate seafaring.
  • Irondocks: Irondocks is a fishing town located on the Brunswick Islands: A set of islands named after Brunswick the Mariner due to him being among the first to discover the islands. Aside from its role in the Empire's fisheries, Irondocks is also home to the Museum of the Seas. The museum attracts visitors from across the Empire, containing knowledge on seafaring and its history as well as the surrounding oceans and what lies within them.
  • Newhaven: Located on the islands of New Cadsoline, Newhaven is a city known for its history. After the original Cadsolite Imperials were driven out of what is now Vatepor, they made their way to these islands and established Newhaven. As the home of the Cadsolites, the city is one of the oldest in the Empire and has a unique architectural style and abundance of history that draws in many visitors. Additionally, as the city is situated in a shallow lagoon, you can get around by riding on the Navpira: Small boats that serve as public transport.

Geography and Points of Interest

While the Sunfall Isles only encompasses a handful of islands, these islands are each quite unique in their own ways.

The first and largest island within the Province is the one that gave it its name, being Sunfall Isle. Home to the Province's capital of Brunswick Port, Sunfall is the closest island to mainland Impatria being just across the Strait of Sunfall from Penoccida. Most of the island is covered in sparse forest that gives way to coastal plain as you approach the coastline. Said coastline is known for its sandy beaches, although the southern cape of the island instead rises into a steep cliff. The entire island offers views of the sunrise and sunset, being vibrant enough that many locals call it the 'Orange Tide.'

The second and third sets of islands in the Province are the Brunswick Islands and New Cadsoline, which are very similar outside of their local cities. Both sets of islands are completely treeless and more mountainous than Sunfall Isle. While they have sandy beaches and vibrant cities, things are mostly quiet in the Brunswick Islands and New Cadsoline.

Finally, the Cavnos Islands are a pair of uninhabited islands at the northern end of the Province. Both of the islands are rocky and jagged, which makes it difficult for anything other than small boats to approach safely. There are numerous caverns on the islands, hence their name, which entice some of the Empire's more daring explorers, as some ancient ruins have been found underneath the surface. The caves of Cavnos are even believed to run deep enough to reach the Underlands.

Economy and Politics

The economy of the Sunfall Isles relies on a multitude of industries, being one of the most diverse in the Empire. The biggest is easily its tourism, as multiple people come to visit the Province on a regular basis to learn of their country's history and enjoy the coastal environment. The Province also makes a significant income through trade, as cities such as Brunswick Port enforce inspections on any goods coming through that result in fines for any violations. This offsets the lack of exports from the region, although the Sunfall Isles do export a significant number of fish products. While easily overshadowed by the fisheries of other Provinces, it still contributes enough to be important.
