Appearance and Traits

The Crokadi are the largest of the Lepdo'ami clans, with only the Varani coming close to their size. Alongside their scales, their bodies are also covered in thick, ridged scutes that give their lineage a bulky and heavily armored appearance. The color of their skin can vary between shades of greens, yellows, and browns. Other aspects of Crokadi appearance point to their semi-aquatic lifestyle, with keeled scales on their large tails being a prime example. Another is their flat, broad heads, with their nostrils and eyes situated on top to reach the water's surface while the rest of their body remains hidden. When they do emerge from the water, their maws full of conical, pointed teeth are visible to others, often making potential foes think twice about fighting a Crokadi.

Living in and around bodies of water have made the Crokadi into excellent swimmers, able to hold their breath for upwards of an hour. Combined with their skill in stealth, a Crokadi is practically invisible while in the water. Once they've successfully snuck up to their target, their jaws can quickly grab on and never let go.

Culture and Beliefs

The Crokadi almost always settle near rivers, lakes, or other bodies of water. Their clan believes that water is sacred, claiming that it is the blood that brings life to the rainforest they live in. As they are part of this rainforest, they only utilize resources that come from these waters. They feed on fish and aquatic plants, they build houses from the mud on the banks, and they create weapons using stones on the riverbeds. It is in these fluvial homes that they raise their children, with tribes taking great care in picking a suitable Amn'toc for their eggs. Furthermore, Crokadi parents take greater care in protecting their children. While they still spend much of their time teaching their children how to survive, they don't expect them to learn how to fight as soon as they can wield a weapon. Instead, they let them enjoy their early years before they must do what all Lepdo'ami must do: Fight to survive.

To embody the qualities of the Dragons, the Crokadi seek to embody the trait that they believe defined them: Cunning. The Crokadi, knowing that all of their enemies must eventually come to the water, will hide themselves to wait for an opportunity. When that opportunity arrives, they will lunge without warning and gain the upper hand in an instant. Having the patience to lie in wait for such a long time, however, is a virtue that is of utmost importance. Crokadi children are taught this from a very young age, and young warriors are usually tested in their patience to ensure their future success. For some tribes, this can go as far as sending their children to hide in the nearby river or lake for the entire day. Even though this most often takes the form of a children's game, it instills them with what they will someday need to succeed against their foes.
