The Northern Rift is a mountain pass that cuts through the Spine of the North in northern Impatria. It is the only direct route between the Hold of Nordisk, and the rest of the Kingdom of Kalvete.
The Northern Rift is one of the most remote places in Kalvete, as few travelers actually pass through it. Its location in such a northern region means it is prone to powerful snowstorms, most of which penetrate into the mountains from Nordisk. The steep surrounding peaks and remoteness of the Rift make it somewhat dangerous, especially for the inexperienced.
