Victor the Fourth

The Low King

Victor the Fourth was the last High King of The Alammar Empire, and considered one of the worst. He succeeded his father, Damien the Second after he died of a recent disease that had swept the land. Young and immature, the Regent attempted to rule in stead of Victor, but too died of the disease, and Victor ascended to the throne. He had inherited a number of problems, from the disease that had killed thousands, a famine that grew because of this disease, and provincial rulers whispering of rebellion and succession. Victor did little to stop these issues, even making them worse on occasion. He grew fat, spoiled, and egotistical, regarding himself as the best High King in the history of the empire.

Victor frequently threw elaborate feasts and parties while the common folk starved outside, publicly embarrassed governors and other prominent political figures, and when the Royal Treasury grew small, increased taxes by a wide margin. One of the most idiotic decisions he made was when he ordered the entire Alammaran Navy into both The Behuam and the Sea of a Thousand Souls, intent on conquering nature itself. This decision caused mutiny, and for those who were loyal to the throne, death, leaving the navy garrison at the province of Eari the sole naval power in the world.

To top this disaster of a reign off, Victor the Fourth, unhappy with his loss to nature, decided to strike against it once more by sending the Royal Army into The Urysas to hunt Ronrifs. This, needless to say, caused many deaths, and decreased support for the throne even further, alienating loyalists. Eventually, all this culminated in The Splintering, where the Alammar Empire dissolved, and Victor was eventually caught and killed by a rebel army, bringing an end to the royal lineage of Alammar.
